I was in the grocery store last week, just browsing, looking for something different.

I spotted Pork 'N Beans.  I haven't had P 'N B in ages so I bought a can.  They didn't have Campbell's so I bought Van Camps.

Wow, what a disappoint.  I remember Campbell's as being flavorful with a full bodied tomato sauce.  Van Camps is navy beans in a thin tomato water

I had to add ketchup and BBQ sauce to make them edible.

Do you have a favorite brand?

I grew up on Campbell's P&B.  only thing my father could cook with ground beef, onions, and fried bologna thrown in.  Once and awhile, i'll have a small cup with a sandwich.

Van Camp's is just watered down ketchup and a chunk of fat thrown in.  I make my own under the pulled pork in the smoker now using Great Northerns, bacon, and jalapenos.  It's just a tiny bit better.

First try a can of beans with some cooked ground beef mixed in, no other seaonings.  It gives it the best taste.

My dad got nuts and the tried throwing in fried ring bologna with onions in butter with the beef, oh man!

Very clear distinction between a can of Bush's and a can of Pork & Beans.

I had a can of Van Camps about a month ago out of nostalgia. They were terrible even with a good shot of hot sauce.

Just might pick up some Campbell's if I can find them locally. No Harris Teeter up here in the PNW.

I eat a proper English "fry up" for breakfast once a week.  Campbell's PnB with HP sauce works nicely.

God, the English Fry Up is a mess.

Bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, blood pudding.

Yah, yah, that might be a GD food orgasm, but try eating it.  I had it at a hotel near Marble Arch and I thought I was going to vomit afterwards.

Now, if we subtract blood pudding and put in corned beef hash and substitute baked beans with maybe mexican style black beans, I think it would be great.

Campbell's obtained from Fred Meyers for the princely sum of .69¢ a can.

I'll crack open a can later for dinner and report back. Nearly everyone works retail here at the house so dinner isn't until 11pm-ish.
