That's pretty neat...just a mag and barrel swap from a standard AR.

awesome...if it works out should be a snappy little varmint round.

Meh. If I'm getting new mags I'm just going 6.5G. View Quote what if you already have 6.8SPC mags? edit: are people really only getting 2500fps with 77grain bullets out of 5.56? i thought people were already getting around 2900fps? and i can already do 3300 with 50 grain vmax out of a .223 bolt gun. |

How underwhelming!
Needs to be more like the 22ar. A short fat case that lets you shoot a 80g bullet out of a mag at over 3000 fps. |

Neat. Basically a 6mm Hagar (a wildcat derived from the .30 Rem., like 6.8 SPC) necked down to .22cal and given a rebated case rim.

I have a 22-250, what the hell do I need this for? That's what I'm wondering Probably for those who do not have a 22-250 AR upper? I think it's an answer to a question very few people are asking. Most people who want .22-250 performance are just going to get a bolt action .22-250 because they can get more accuracy for the buck with the bolt gun. |

Looks to be a 6.8 SPC case necked down to .22. There have been wildcats already using this setup.

If this works out, I'd consider it for the next Highpower Match Rifle I build.

What case are they using for this since it says you can use your existing 5.56/223 BCG?

A derivative of the .30 Rem./6.8 SPC/6mm Hagar case, with a rebated rim. Nosler did buy SSA, which was one of the primary producers of 6.8SPC brass. Mike. View Quote So if they are using the 556 rim on it and it's the 6.8 case - could they make a 6.8/6.5 (rename it obviously) to take 556 bolts and give the same performance? |

Looks like it's using a rebated rim on a 6.8 case,
I doubt the velocity increase, but the numbers quoted don't seem that great compared to what I've seen others get from their .223s |

I have a bolt gun in 22-6mm. 77gr bullets to 3,450 fps and 70gr TSX to 3,650. Neat gun BUT LLLOOOUUUUDDD!!!!

This. GTFO with more wildcats. Some wildcats that became popular and are still widely available in factory loads: .22 Hornet .22-250 Rem .25-06 Rem .257 Roberts .35 Whelen One might even make the argument that most cartridges available today were at one time wildcats. |

It's always good to see ballistic experimentation and progress.
But even Nosler doesn't say what the role for this cartridge is... is it a varmint hunting thing? Do you need 70gr+ bullets to do that sort of thing? Serious question, I have no idea. |

Just saw this on Facebook. 22 nosler It should be interesting to see how the ballistics will look. View Quote I don't see this doing anything for me a .223 wont do for likely 50% cheaper. if I needed something small and peppy id buy a .17hmr or a .204 ruger. or maybe a 22-250. all of which are likely cheaper due to components being out for at least a decade ( .204), or many decades.. ( 22-250/.223) |
