Any F1 guys watch WEC? I used to love watching GT cars and LMP cars racing simultaneously on the track, but I was probably in high school the last time I watched it. F1 races at 2 hours long are pushing it for me. I don't know about sitting through 6-24 hours of watching a race, but I like the classes of cars so much that it's pulling me back in. View Quote I'm kinda getting used to endurance-watching races though... because I've watched the Tour de France coverage for the past several years. It's all I can do to catch up at the end of work days and keep my ever-full DVR cleaned-up enough to catch the next day's coverage. If I manage to get behind a day or two, I feel like I'M riding an endurance race in trying to catch up. I'm always WELL ready for the end when it comes. |

I stayed-up until 3:30 AM Sunday morning watching before I finally had to call it a night, and then resumed about 9AM and finished it. View Quote I'll usually watch the entire 24H of Le Mans, but I also used to do the 24 hour races on GT5. |

Ferrari looks fast again.
Let's hope the greys aren't sandbagging |
|
My only worry today is that verstappen might be 3rd on grid...
That retard might just crash into the Ferrari at the first corner tomorrow Wait and see |

Vettel lost the pole at the casino. He left almost half a second there

Great day for McLaren qualifying 9th and 10th. Too bad Button had to give his up for a power unit penalty. Would love to see him score points but that looks tough now.

KIMI! Nicely done!
The rookies are really having a hard time this year, aren't they? VAN, OCO, STR all wrecking. |
|
Damn.... Ferrari front row. Figures... I went from Ducati to BMW Italians start winning again.
Did anyone else catch the comment near the beginning on Q1 where they said that one of the race engineers said that if the rules allowed it they could finish the whole Monaco race on one set of Ultrasofts? |
|
Wow.
Awesome to see Raikkonen with pole, and I hope he wins tomorrow! |
|
Somebody said that in race configuration Ferrari is about 8/10th faster than anybody else.

Fuck yeah Kimi, I'm hoping for a 1-2 tomorrow for Ferrari. Shitty luck for HAM but he screwed up several laps in Q2 before VAN crashed out so it's on him.
|
|
Good quals. Glad Kimi got his first pole in 9 years. Red front row is awesome.
And I love that Ham got screwed. He was gifted his win last year by some dumbass at RBR. So screw him. Pendullum swung the other way. |

FWIW, Merc stated the best Hamilton could have done in quali would have been 7th. He's way, way off this weekend. View Quote Ferrari need a 1-2 for their championship points. |

It was easy to see that Hamilton was struggling this weekend, but damn. He was going have a hard time getting better than row 2 or 3 but 14th on the grid! He's never been the greatest about coming in and telling the team, do this to the car, but he can usually drive around the car not being optimal. It was pretty obvious he was going to end up mid pack at the start but, again, damn, 14th.
Good to see Kimi putting it all together. I hope wins. It's going to be an exciting race. The wife is saying there's going to be a big crash at the start and I think Mad Max is going to pull one of his gotta win the race in the first corner moves. We'll see. |

Just realized that Vandoorne has a three place penalty for "causing a collision at the previous round". I don't remember the incident anymore but McLaren just can't catch a break.

View Quote Could cause some shake ups. Those who qualified outside the top 10 can start on super softs and hope for an an early safety car can pit and switch to ultrasofts, mostly penalty free. The top 10 will have to hope for a later safety car or catch a gap late enough. |
