The 29 car boys gave me this, me being a Kiwi and ex McLaren member makes this pretty special.

Looks nice. I used to like Grosjean, and I still think that he's a very good driver. But his schtick is getting old. He could do his whining better, in a more manly way. Like Alonso. He just [understandably] gets little digs in here and there about Honda's power[less] plant. Grosjean just bitches about the brakes all the time. Meanwhile, Magnussen just keeps rolling along, doing his best with what he's got.

He ran a lap of over 231 today with no tow.

I think he's 5th overall.

Bordais' crash was friggin insane. Damned violent hit on the wall at 231mph. Ouch. Hope it doesn't get into Rossi's head too much.

Yeah, I had gone into the man cave to grab my gear to get ready to setup for my gig tonight,  and then I hear my wife freaking out so I came running out and had missed the crash. Luckily I was recording on DVR, so I rewound it and WOW... I was just shocked. Last time I remember being that shocked was Alonso's crash in Australia last year. But he climbed out of that one what hardly a scratch. Don't think Bordais will be so lucky. Him and Power are my favorite Indy guys (oitside of Alonso), so that's a bummer.

He was quickest by a good margin coming out of the morning practice but the engine was going away. We made the decision to change it right before qualifying, his guys went at it like mad men and got it done but we had to recalibrate it the best we could without having the benefit if any laps. His install laps was his first warmup lap and eventually, because the engine was still trying to learn, there was an overboost later in his run which causes an automatic, momentary loss of boost, (it's a built in penalty to stop people doing it on purpose), and his exit of turn 4 on the last lap wasn't quite as fast as the previous ones so he likely would have been 4th.

^ this is why I love this place.

I'll be in line looking for Alonso's autograph Saturday. Probably won't happen but it won't be from a lack of effort.

Good luck Sunday

I like Alonso, but I don't want him to win.

First because if he does than it'll be nothing but a bunch of Europeans saying 'see, I told you that IndyCar is full of second-rate drivers and is a second-league sport to F1' (not that I care what Europeans have to say, for the most part); and secondly because I kind of want to see him come back again next year.

I want to see him finish a close 2-5th.

LOL!!! I'll admit to having felt the same way before. And even though Rossi is an American and didn't drive many F1 races,  the Eurosnobs would still say "see... that's two Indy 500s in a row that F1 drivers have one. I hear ya there.

I'm rooting for Power, Dixon, and Alonso to drive well. I would habe been rooting for Bordais as well, but he won't be driving for a while I assume.

Bourdais is out for the rest of the season, unfortunately.

I'm pulling for Hinch above all else, but also Rahal, Newgardden and to a lesser extent Rossi and Alonso.

Any F1 guys watch WEC? I used to love watching GT cars and LMP cars racing simultaneously on the track, but I was probably in high school the last time I watched it.

F1 races at 2 hours long are pushing it for me. I don't know about sitting through 6-24 hours of watching a race, but I like the classes of cars so much that it's pulling me back in.
