I can only imagine how you'd feel if Max got upset with Vettel and decided to give him a "love tap."

It doesn't matter how hard it was, it was obviously intentional and done while there was a safety car when drivers are supposed to slow down and watch for potential dangers on the track, not create more danger.

I already said I think Hamilton should've been penalized. I wouldn't mind seeing both of them suspended for a race for fucking around behind the safety car.
View Quote
Good thing you can only imagine because unlike maxipad or hammy, Vettel doesn't give them any valid reason to do so...

They were at 40kmh for fuck sake, and there was nothing on that straight... Not even the safety car anymore...

Yes it was stupid but it wasn't dangerous at all.

Seb is on the shit list for the previous infraction and telling Charlie to fuck off on the radio.

IIRC, he also has the most points on his license this year.

A one race suspension is in the cards and would be in line with previous sanctions over the years, unfortunately.

Only thing that saves him (or seals his fate) is political pressure from Liberty wanting a good show (championship) in their first year.

Well except for insulting that asshat of Charlie whiting... but hey, when you are allowed everything, why would you...

Or.

Did you know that McLaren has completed more race laps this year than Red Bull has?

Ooooo, McLaren Distraction!

I did know about the laps, but hadn't seen the article. Good read, but I think it's silly that it hints McLaren is to blame at the end. 3 years uncompetitive is not McLaren's fault. They have the chassis and probably the best driver, it's Honda that's not delivering.

Maxipad is a very talented, fearless rocket... who thinks that the race ends after turn one. And it often does... for him or whomever he takes out in turn one. Seems like that's a pretty douchey "race strategy" to me.

IMHO, both drivers should have been given a 10-20 second drive through penalty and license points.

Not a disputed fact at all, I think even Shumacher of all people said he was one of the best drivers that he ever competed against.

You didn't say "ONE of the best drivers". You said "probably THE best driver". (Caps added for emphasis.) There's a YUGE difference between those statements. Had you said "one of the best drivers" I would have never even said anything about it... because I would have completely agreed. Alonso certainly is one of the best drivers on the paddock. But THE best driver? Very disputable.

I don't have the power to anoint anybody as anything. I'm sorry if there was confusion in the way I typed it. In saying "probably" I wasn't trying to declare him as such, just put him in there as a possible candidate. If this is going to lead to confusion from here on out I can just edit the post.

I should go ahead and add that while I respect Alonso's driving abilities and I'm a McLaren fan he's never been my favorite driver and I almost went as far as completely disliking him in his Ferrari days. I'm sure you could find previous threads from seasons past where I called him names.

Velocity trace wouldn't show Hamilton's sudden speed reduction because the moment HAM downshifted, hit the brakes or whatever, HAM's car was instantly accelerated to the speed of the Ferrari...hence the collision.

HAM still sucks and the trace proves nothing.

FIA conclusions are as BS as your chart is (which, somehow is pretty much unreadable).. but less retarded than your comment... which says a lot.

there is nothing 'steady' in hamilton deceleration.

Everybody saw what happened.... even your BS chart shows hamilton decelerrating instead of acceleration after passiing the apex... for fuck sake if you zoom in it even shows hamilton slightly pushing the throttle (stop in deceleration) and releasing it just before the impact !

btw, can you source this awfully low resolution telemetry chart ?
Link Posted: 6/30/2017 5:52:12 PM EDT
[#42]
I found a clearer view

it seems evident that after the apex, hamilton actually hit the throttle (actually stopping the deceleration of the car) and immediately released it....

what this graph actually shows is that after the appex and the application of throttle (stop in decelration and slight acceleration), the deceleration resumes just as hard as at the beginning of the corner.....  IN A FUCKING ACCELERATION
AREA.....

basically Vettel responded to hamilton acceleration with a slight delay, and couldnt predict the sudden release of the throttle.

Roger. I like Alonso and think that he's tried to do more with less than just about anybody. I truly feel for the guy wasting away at shitty teams. The closest that I would come to an opinion on the best driver(s) would be to list the top three. Alonso, Seb, and Ham would be those three in my worthless opinion. There are a few guys who are right under there, but who either haven't fully proven themselves yet or who just peaked slightly below those guys. Kimi, Ricciardo, Bottas, Massa, Button (when he was around) and a few others would be in that group. Max may end-up being this generation's Schumacher, but he's got a LOT of maturing to do before I'm ready to declare him to be the next king. Vettel and Hamilton have proven themselves -- dominant teams or not. We're left to wonder what could have been with Alonso, Kimi and Button... but I don't doubt that had they been in the right car at the right time, they could have racked up a few more championships each.
