Sounds more like a domestic situation gone bad than a BLM thing. It also occurred off campus.

However, many of the police shootings that have taken place this year have been BLM related and this one might be as well. I know from experience that GSW is a fairly liberal minded university and there's no telling what some of the students are hearing from their professors on a daily basis there. |

It's unconfirmed at this point but some are reporting on twitter that one officer has died and the other has been airlifted to a hospital in Macon.
Awaiting confirmation of all of the above. ETA: Suspect is still on the loose, also. |

Everyone, please let me introduce 32 year old Minguell Kennedy Lembrick who is now a suspect in the shootings of two georgia police officers.

It's official now, one officer is dead according to WMAZ in Macon. Both officers were transported to a Macon hospital and one is still in critical condition.

His teenaged daughter was kidnapped from the softball fields (same side of town as the shooting) and killed in the mid-70's. I lived in Americus for 10 years and actually went to GSW for a couple summer semesters. My brother texted me and said they were locked down for a while (he works a few blocks away), but have been told to just stay off the street. Prayers for the officers and their families. |

There's now a $20,000 reward being offered by the FBI and GBI for information leading to the arrest of the suspect (Hmmm.....I think I might now google how to become a bounty hunter in Georgia).
Also, apparently, what started this was a 911 call that was made this morning because there was some sort of domestic issue going on at a nearby apartment complex. The APD officer answered the call and the GSW officer provided back-up since the apartment complex was next door to the school. It was the APD officer who was killed and the GSW officer who now remains in critical condition in Macon. Here's a picture of the fallen APD officer. His name is Nicholas Smarr.
