http://www.guns.com/2016/12/05/a-look-at-some-weapons-turned-in-at-the-san-jose-annual-gun-buyback-video/

A whopping 690 firearms were turned in during a gun buyback event over the weekend in San Jose.

Participants received Target gift cards – and cold, hard cash once the gift cards ran out – in exchange for unwanted guns.

I don't mind people selling unused guns.

I hate that the government is going to destroy them.

If you're willing to give up a gun for a target gift card, then I'm happy. I don't want someone with those brain cells and an AK.

Looks a lot like a .22 I used to have. If memory serves it was a Yeager AP-74 looked like an m-16 / ar-15 from a distance. It was a 10 end mag fed. .22 mag went in to what looked like a regular mag sticking out. It was accurate, but was a jam o matic

Some are non transferable in the state and even the ones that are require the services of a dealer for the 10-day wait, background check and registration. plus the cops minimize opportunity to intercept the sellers by having the sellers put the gun in the trunk and do it like a drive thorough starbucks. here's your gift card, pop the trunk.

That poor P89/P90...

I'd ran out and bought the cheapest pieces of shit I could find if I knew the amount they were offering was more, just to profit off their stupidity. And then buy more guns I actually wanted.

The news said they run the serial numbers and if any are stolen they work to return them to the rightfull owners. If that is true it might be a win based on the cost paid to recover it for the owner.

I'd like to see the follow up story.

Totally fucked.  Most are stolen, and no effort will be made to return these to their owners.

I really want to start a gofund me or similar to fund a gun buy back, use liberals cash to buy guns, then sell them legally/ return verified stolen ones with the assistance of an FFL. Maybe use the proceeds to donate the the NRA legal fund.

If anyone wants to run with that idea, all I want in return is any early 1911s that show up.

That's kind of where I'm at with it.

Also: I'm a BIG fan of these in states that permit FTF transfers, cash money. I'll definitely do you better than a Target gift card, friend.

I need to find some if these buybacks here in VA and score some good deals.  I could have had a 1911 and a new 870 for 220 bucks.
