Saw a ton at Scheels this weekend. Didn't buy any. It's obvious they intentionally fucked us over keeping it from the shelves and blaming it on neckbeards. Now I don't need any and won't buy it until they are giving it away. They gambled and lost. Tough shit for them.

I still have a plastic box of 100 Remington Golden Speed .22LR that sold for $0.99 back in the 70's!

Never understood the Walmart benchmark for .22 I've never had an issue buying .22 Ever. The internet is a wonderful thing. WM 20 minutes south of us said they"d not had any for 5-6 months(truthful?). Went to the Academy store 20 minutes west of us and they had Federal Auto Match 325rnd boxes behind the counter. Would say atleast couple hundred. Asked clerk if there was a limit he stated 500 rounds per person...so you get one box. Laughed inside and said thank you and left. One stinking box Would of been fine with 2-3 boxes just to make the trip worth it.

I saw a handful of .22 LR in a local retail store today....it's been 4 years.

I have a friend that works at a firearms & ammunition distributor. During all the gun rushes when .22lr prices were going through the roof and there were severe shortages of it, this friend would post pictures from work showing no shortages whatsoever and he said ammo prices went up with inflation and not the sudden demand, so that likely means all the individual retailers were probably paying the same price they always have been, but they were just jacking up prices to take advantage of the political climate.
So there's plenty of .22LR now, but there always has been. |
