That's not horrible considering it is well known you are not to carry at WDW.

I really never understood the reason to CCW at WDW. If there is an active shooter and you are trying to help out all you are going to do is get shot by one of the snipers.

That place is filled with sniper nest. If have been to WDW lately it will make sense to you why they designed 7D's mine train and Be Our guest mountain they way they did.

article didn't really say if he had a license or not.

Seems like if he did it would have been more of a "Whoops let me put this back in my car" moment.

If you have a valid license to carry and you declare the gun ,  they offer you a locker to use until you leave the park.

Same goes for a knife, license to carry or not.

Trying to sneak it  past security is what gets you a trespass warning so you're now persona non grata at all Disney properties; but no criminal charges.

No license; you'll be charged for unlawful possession of a firearm,

It says he had no license right in the article headline.

The conclusion of the article:

"Langston was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a concealed firearm and issued a trespass warning from all Disney World property. "

He was arrested for unlawful possession.

If he had a license to carry and declared his gun at the gate he would have been offered an escort to the security office where they would provide him with a locker to put his gun in until he left the park.

I wouldn't be worried about an active shooter as much as I would some chomo grabbing my kid or some shit.

Active shooter is really the last on a long list of things of why I carry. More realistically muggings, car jackings, etc etc will happen.

I am glad you told everyone this, because my podnah consults to WDW for security and he told me the same thing in confidence that I wouldn't tell anyone.

Buzz Light Year also is packing some fire power.

C3PO keeps his guns in R2D2 because his suit is tight and made from level IV plate material so he doesn't have enough room to keep them on his person.

It was actually a blessing in the skies when NASA got their budget cut. All of those SPEC OPs guys then got laid off and WDW could pay them way less money.

WDW used to spend a shit ton of money on that security program.

Don't believe me?

Look at what happened to DIS stock price after the NASA cuts were announced.

Feb 14, 2011 announcement made

The 2012 budget request allocates $18.7 billion for NASA, the same amount the agency received in 2010. That's about $300 million less than NASA received in the president's 2011 budget request.

Not with his gun. Return it to your car, lock it up in the security office, or don't go into the park.

WDW was putting everyone through a metal detector last time I was there, and all the bags were being searched quite extensively.  Armed sheriff deputies galore right behind the metal detectors....

IMHO they were doing a far better job than the TSA "burger king won't hire me" booger eaters.

I dont' get the obsession people have with CCW at WDW or a major theme park if you are that concerned don't go. Its  a private property.

You could CCW in disney parks in past, because they would only do bag checks,  although it was a stupid idea because if you got caught you just ruined the family vacation.

There is a pretty significant amount of plain clothes at the park.

However after Orlando Pulse Shooting, WDW instituted random Metal Detector checks.

article didn't really say if he had a license or not.

Seems like if he did it would have been more of a "Whoops let me put this back in my car" moment.

Eggsactly.....You never wondered why there are so many people just walking around not riding rides? You ever wonder why there are 5 guys working on somthing, but only 3 know what they are actually doing? Stuff like that man.

There is also a huge underground tunnel system in which the tactical teams wait and watch.

tell me about it......I much prefer to go when it's not 100 degrees.

I think I will only go during Mardi Gras from now on.

It's not as if a FL non-resident permit is hard to get.

They announced deeper security after Pulse.  Prior to that, it was trivial to get a knife or handgun past security.
