those who empathize with HIllary's version of how this is supposed to go....believe that "the ends justify the means"....and that...

The only sin is not getting what you want.

Everything I read or saw today about that event focused on him getting booed when he made his remarks.

I guess you didn't see the roast last night?

Libs simply spinning it as him taking it too far with the media comment and Hillary keeping it more playful.
They claimed she was better received.

Everything I read or saw today about that event focused on him getting booed when he made his remarks.

Same, NPR was reeeeeally trying not to say his joke was funny, despite the guy in the audience cracking up.

Why?  He's winning and doesn't need to.

Because they're on the same team.

I feel like he's done a better job of taking the gloves off than any Republican presidential candidate before him.

He is.

But despite being the "nimble navigator", he just can't deliver the kill shot.

ETA: He has had his zinger moments but in back and forth policy stuff, he has fallen somewhat flat. Might actually be the winning strategy to go for the soundbite zingers instead of counterpointing policy (considering idiocracy is seemingly real).

ITT, arfcom once again demonstrates a lack of knowledge on several topics:

1.  Appealing to undecided voters takes a slightly different strategy than the one used when attempting to appeal to core supporters.
2.  Debate performances are not designed to appeal to core supporters.  As an example, I very seriously doubt that hillary would say that she supports the second amendment at one of her rallies.
3  Undecided voters decide elections.

Say whatever the fuck you like I encourage it, just vote for Trump (or keep FHRC out) on November 8th.

I honestly believe that Trump doesn't want to win.

You could also get a similar picture during last night's roast.  But that doesn't mean they're on the same team or cozy with each other.... as evidenced by the complete savagery he had towards her.
