This one got banned in many papers. The editors thought it looked like the dog was humping the transmission.

The time log worked!

Another favorite of mine.  Don't know why exactly, but it cracks me up every time.

Another favorite of mine is Dan Piraro's Bizarro. I initially thought he was just a Gary Larson wannabe, but the man has a sense of humor that's just as wonderful.

If you guys like The Far Side, check out Tundra.  Chad is good people, although quirky in person.  Buddy of mine worked with him on the Tundra movie  Chad and a few other cartoonists went to Iraq in 2010 for Band of Boneheads for the troops

Updated this to match my name and his name, and framed it for my old guitar instructor.
It still hangs on his wall.

As big of a fan as I am of Gary Larson's work (cartoonist of the far side), FWIW, he has asked that fans NOT post his work on the Internet as he then looses control of his work.

Well, he's not as bright as I gave him credit for.  No telling how many books this thread has sold him.  I know that I had completely forgot about his comics until see these posts.

I remember reading that request of his many years ago. Unfortunately that request is about as helpful as pissing into the wind.

Close second for me, right after Calvin and Hobbes (of course).  I always saved them to read last when looking at the funny pages.

Dilbert and xkcd are their progeny.  Seriously, those 5 capture and express so much of my existence it's scary.

The thing about TFS and xkcd is that they can convey so much with a single panel.  Simply amazing.

One of my favorite Far Side cartoons:

C&H, Far Side and Bloom County made for a golden age of cartoons.

Pretty much all my fave Far Sides have been posted....but Calvin & Hobbes was the strip that always struck close to home....and this one was spot-on with my early model building attempts.

I always thought that the "Garfield" cartoonist was peeking in my windows for at least the first 3 books.  Book would come out, start reading it, "Yep, my cat did that."  "Yep, he did that one too."
