I wish there was a higher quality version of this available. Here are the Flying Burrito Brothers post-Gram Parsons and "Sneaky Pete" Kleinow's departures covering Dave Dudley's "Six Days On The Road".
While Kleinow,
a legend in his own right playing the pedal steel (not to mention being a top notch Hollywood special effects man), was gone, he was more than ably replaced by another great player in Al Perkins. The other notable addition to the band (and in this performance) is Byron Berline. Considered by many to be one of the best fiddle players of his era. Both Perkins and Berline really get to shine in this performance from the early 70s. Also note Rick Roberts (later of Firefall)
as a member of the band at the time, playing guitar and singing harmonies with Chris Hillman (ex- Byrds). Another former Byrd, Michael Clarke, is on drums and Kenny Wertz rounds out the band.
