Big new sign at front desk, new consent paperwork to sign, got asked to provide sample after height weight and before blood pressure. |

If you are paying via insurance, or if this doctor accepts insurance and bills this out, then it is lacking medical necessity and is potentially deniable. Ask the office if they accept medicare or medicaid and if they do this to those patients. If they say yes...then inform them you will report them to RAC and see if RAC wants to come perform an audit for non-medically necessary tests being charged to Medicare/Medicaid.
ETA: Here's the link, report the doctor here on the cell phone right in front of him and watch the hilarity ensue. She said it was law to drug test patients randomly and that illegal drugs affect her diagnosis. I thought the law bullshit was bullshit since I wasn't on pain medication, nor was I prescribed any. But the need to establish whether illegal drugs were causing a problem, I figured was reasonable. But after the third test, in 4 visits, none showing illegal drugs and Vitamin B-12 being the only "prescription", I was kind of done. I may find another neurologist. One time, the lab wanted to charge me $3000.00. I don't know what happened to that. Make sure they give you an upfront cost. |

Yup, I stopped going to my doctor to get prescriptions refilled because he wants me to take a urine drug test. Fuck that and fuck him for asking. I figured it's part of the Obamacare bullshit. I don't like feeling like I'm being treated like a criminal by my doctor, forcing me to take govt drug tests. Fuck Obama.

First specialist I went to after a wreck in 13 demanded a piss test to even see the doc..I told them fine, take your test, pissed, then went into see the doc..asked him if I passed, he said yep..I got up and walked out..I went to another place, that ended up getting to do 3 surgeries on me and make a shit load of money..the other place sent me a piss test bill because insurance wouldn't cover it..I called their finance dept. told them no way I would pay for a test they required just to see their Doctor.....

For my agency we get piss tested yearly for our annual physical as well, but more looking for protein etc, not drugs. The random UAs cover that. I do my FAA physical at the same time but not sure if it requires it. My urologist requires it every year as well and has nothing to do with why I see him, but I imagine just part of the big picture they want to track.

I piss in a cup at the docs office when I get a full physical, but its only to do a sugar test and I watch them dip the stick and pour the rest in the toilet. Any doctor that drug tests all his patients everytime they walk in is going to find himself in some serious shit with the insurance carriers when they find out he is doing it for no reason... |

If you have something else in your system that isn't prescribed, it's a problem. If you are on pain pills or other controlled substances this is normal and should be expected. I had surgery in July. First time in 15 years of even seeing a Dr. Pre-op test didn't even take a urine sample
