I have long admired 10mm. I would like to buy something diferent. I have revolvers in 44 357 45acp and 500. I have glock in 9 40 and 45. I would really like a sw 610 or a gp100 conversion but I cant find or justify the cost. Glocks are easy to find but all the same.  Is the colt delta worth a grand. I could get a ria in 10 for half that. Is the colt still the high qualiy. am i missing anything.

No, stay far away if you actually want to shoot real 10mm. The Glock is even better.

<----- Owns a Delta Elite.

If you want to just buy something super sweet out of th e box, this is the right answer.

The frame and slide are the only "Colt" parts left on my Delta Elite.

My own DE sits in the safe, waiting for me to send it to Novaks or wherever for "improvements" that should've come on the base pistol, like decent sights, and fully ramped barrel to properly support the 10mm Auto cartridge.

FPNI, and this is coming from a Kimber 10mm owner. I do love my Kimber though, it's a Stainless Target II.

Since I already have a pistol (Sig P220 stainless) in 10mm, I've been looking at one of these to go with it.

They also have one without the big hand guard too.

Glock owns the 10mm cartridge.  A vintage Delta Elite is a thing of beauty, but they don't handle full house loads.  You might as well get a .40 S&W.

I would get a Glock 40 and add an RMR as funds allow.  Because that would be awesome.

Rock Island Armory FS HC 10mm

16 rounds of 10mm

That would make for one hell of a woods gun with hard cast bullets. I'd carry it for bear protection no problem. 16 rounds > 6 rounds of 44 mag.

Buy a Ruger GP100 then send it off to this guy and wait. He will make it a 10mm.

Glock 20...........and also  get a non Glock barrel so you can save your brass, because 10mm is fun to reload.

American Rifleman reviewed this Sig. Their accuracy, 10 rounds @ 25yds, was 1.5".
Very impressive handgun.

Coonan?  They're bringing out a .45, and I'm hoping it will soon be followed by a 10mm.

My Delta is going the same path.  I, personally, want a Pony of my own creation but AZJEEPER has the right answer.  Throw the coin on a Dan Wesson.

For those recommending the EAA witness, what is the fit/finish/quality on par with the CZ line?
View Quote

I have an EAA Witness 10MM compact that is a complete hunk of shit from a quality perspective.

I have less than 500 rounds through it of fairly light weight power-wise ammo (as that is what EAA recommended) and the slide broke in half.  It went back to EAA who put a new slide with totally different profile on it and a completely different rear target style sight on it.  So I got to throw away the leather holster I had made for it since the gun no longer fit.

Another 100 rounds later and the safely snapped in half allowing the lockwork to move around in the frame.   Another $65 overnight to EAA for them to replace the safety.

In between repairs I was lucky to get two back to back mags without a failure/jam of some sort.

At this point it is a wall hanger.  Just get a Glock if you want to shoot.   I have a ton of rounds through my G20 and G29 without a hiccup.

If I get a 10mm it will be a Glock 40. The Glockzilla is a no brainer for 10mm.

How do you like the 220? I was finger fucking a 220 with Kryptek over the weekend but couldn't get past the $1200 price tag.

But damn it felt really nice, the controls were super tight though.

10mm out of a G20, sure.  A 1911, no way.  At least I can trust my 629 to go bang when needed.

Not to mention, you aren't going to get many shots off at a bear in a defensive situation.  Might as well make them count.
