Went to the Tank Day held once a year in Nokesville, VA (just outside of DC). These are some pics I took. There were units from mainly WW2 era. Some pics look like movie sets. Pics may not be labeled. Most firearms were not decommissioned. Enjoy.

Were guns real or dummy? Did you have the opportunity to play with the various weapon systems and go inside the tanks?

Some were decommissioned (most of the full auto weapons). The soldiers from the Russian unit about to advance on the Chechens were carrying fully functional AKs. They said they used blanks in a reenactment against the Taliban a couple months ago. They said the Taliban looked authentic. Would love to have seen that.

This isn't Maryland. They were letting kids play with the weapons. Most tanks actually drove and were maintained by owners.
