Thinking it'd make an outstanding nightstand/HD pistol.
I'm curious as to people's opinions on THIS pistol, and if they like it. |

I assume you are going to want to outfit it with a weapon light. .. Don't forget to add an extra $100 for the proprietary rail adapter.... |

Based on my recent purchase of a plain USP .45, I say FO!
*I paid $500 at GT dist. for a sheriff's office trade in, in good condition. |

Buds just had the USP40 tactical on sale for under $800... I fent...
high bore and low capacity compared to some of the newer guns, but short frame makes it conceal very well. I havent had a chance to shoot the .40 but Ive rented a .45 and it was one of the most accurate pistols I have shot... If another sale comes up on the .45 I will be getting a second. |

found mine used in RVA for 650$ in awesome condition. Deals are out there, just have to look around.

Good handgun. Massive. PITA to mount a light. Expensive mags. Not a lot of recoil, but way too much muzzle flip.

I would go for an H&K 45 T. Updated design, same reliability.

I have one and use it as a suppressor host . It is a solid choice

Great shooters, And I can shoot plates with them quicker than I can with my glocks. View Quote WTF is that on the bottom left? Looks like some sort of safety/decock/CDA (LEM) weirdness. The HK45T and the USP45T are different pistols. The USP series pre-dates the HK45 series by what, 15 years?
OP: The HK45 is a bit more ergonomically comfortable...but to get it, you give up 2 rounds. The USP will get you 12+1. If you have medium to small hands, the HK45 is probably the way you want to go...the USP is a bit bigger. I wear XL gloves and to me a USP45 is big. If you have more time than money, you can do what I did...find a used LE USP 45 tradein for <$450, and as time allows, fill it in with a factory threaded barrel, a match trigger kit, and if you really want you can replace the recoil assembly with a Tac's recoil assembly (it has a heavier second stage spring, specifically for shooting suppressed; it's not necessary either way, really) and depending on what kind of deals you found, you could get yourself into a USPTac clone for less. If you really want to go for the gusto you can also swap out the sights for taller sights like on the Tac...I don't have a .45 can yet so I don't know if it's strictly necessary or not. |

Errrr, so HK 45 Tactical and USP 45 T are different pistols? I'd of thought the "T" would just make it a shorter way to pronounce it. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Well I don't have a tactical model, but I do have both a USP40 and USP45. They're excellent pistols.

Big Ass Gun.
But seem to run fine. Would not want to carry one on my hip all day, but as a static nightstand gun........you could do worse. I owned one for about a month. felt like a SMG shrunk to hand gun status. |

The older Tacticals came is a carry bag/case similar to what modern FNX's come with. Came with a cleaning kit, pouch, 2 mag pouch, suppressor pouch and two velcro straps to hold the gun in place. I have quite a few of them. |

Mine feeds all types of bullets which is nice. Big gun but actually fits and functions fine in my small hands. Magazines are expensive but I was able to grab a few 10 rounders for $20 years ago (you can increase capacity by inserting Para 14 followers). Only complaint I have is the left hand thread and lack of cutout for RMR sight. Very fun to shoot suppressed.

View Quote If I get light strikes with my glocks, I feed those rounds to my USP SD, and they fire 100% of the time. As far as the RMR cut, thats a current trend, not in the early 90's when these guns were produced. I can honestly say, I can shoot very instinctively with my USP's that no RMR is needed, yet I have 5 glocks with optics. |

I picked up the HK 45 in the gunstore a couple of times...
The finger grooves don't feel right for me.... The USP feels pretty good. So I'd either have to go with the USP, stop dating Rosie Palmer & her 5 daughters so much so the muscles atrophy...or use my left hand for the same reason.... (I take a size 8 surgical glove) |

I just got my 4th HK *usp 45 tac* (usp9 tac, uspc9, p30sk 9) and i kinds feel bad for my p30sk. I just got it prob 6 months ago and have MAYBE 100 rounds through it. got the 45 tac as a host for my evo 45 (and soon to be octane 45). love it so far and as any tac, love the trigger. still not as good as my usp 9 tac...but it has the lem / match hybrid trigger.
