Just curious how many arfcommers have actually been in the air on a military aircraft. If your one of the lucky civilians who have flown on a military aircraft you count too. Civilian aircraft used as charters do not count.
Unfortunately the only military aircraft I have flown on was a POS C5, we flew from McCord to Louisville, Ky then back. No windows and the pos broke down delaying our return. |

A C5 broke down? Unpossible! ETA: C5 C17 C130 KC135 CH47 UH60 View Quote Shocking huh We landed at Louisville as Ft Knox's airfield was too small. We had to get out in the middle of a taxiway, while standing out there a inbound commercial flight declared an emergency and the airport had to bring just about every vehicle they could find to get us out of there. |

I don't know what it was but it dropped me off in AFG and picked me up 7 months later.
Planes are weird I'm a skid kid Not that I've ever flown in a helicopter either I pretty much only know what cobras and Huey's are because I was in a HMLA. |

Quite a few times on both. 4 years jump status and 8 years aviation (3 of which as a line crew chief).

Yes, if WWll type stuff counts.

I've flown on a few C5's as a kid flying from dover to Europe. One of the flights I was too young to remember.

Not like we didn't do this in April of this year.
Search, it's a motherfucker. Google, it's a motherfucker. https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1854535 What military aircraft have you flown or flown in? 6 pages. |

C-130 from CT to Yakima for FTX with 9th ID.
Couple of UH-1 flights to scout firing/ defilade positions for an FTX at Ft Drum with 10th Mt. |

Closest I've come to it is sitting inside the cockpit of an F-14 Tomcat while it was in the hangar. I was about 9 years old. I remember the interior having a well worn look like a high mileage car. They wouldn't let me turn on the electrical power though to play with the lights.

UH-60
UH-1 CH-47 C-141 Lots of aircrew, both enlisted and commissioned, other than 'pilot', OP

View Quote Sorry every time I freaking search anything on this site nothing comes up. I could probably search Trump and get nothing. Edit: Five months is probably the longest dupe callout I have ever seen! When I do this again in February I promise to include Enlisted Aircrew and will phrase it as in instead of on. |

A military plane flew over the freeway one time while I was driving to work. That's probably the closest I've ever been to one.

The day I got out of the NAVY we were out to sea somewhere out off San Diego and I got a cat launch ride on the COD C-2 Greyhound to North Island

C141 from Rhinemien to Dover
Huey around mesquite tx. While in the ROTC. |

CH-46 and CH-53
T-28 trainer. Belonged to a flying club on a navy base and the pilot was navy, so I'll stretch the definition and call it a military aircraft. |

No, I wish to fly in a V-22 Osprey since flying in an A10 Warthog is not possible.

UH-1H, UH-1N
UH-60, SH-60, HH-60 OH-58A CH-47D AH-1F C-130 C-141 C-5 Gulfstream G2 (not sure of military designation) |

Have you ever been in a plane as it was catapulted off an aircraft carrier?
Yup, a couple times. |
|
|
Hitched a ride on a C141 Starlifter from Elmendorf to McClellan once.
|
|
|
Jumped from C-130's, C--141's, Hueys, Blackhawks and Chinooks. Favorite jumps were tailgate C-130's.

If you have never flown overseas in a military aircraft, you are in for a surprise. First Class accommodations on commercial airlines are nothing in comparison. Deluxe beds. Great chow and beautiful stewardesses. You'll love it, but sometimes they drop the rear hatch and you have to jump out. How rude.
