B West AK? - AR15.COM

I picked up a B West AK at the gun show this weekend and wanted to find out more about them.

All I know is it has a folding bayonet like the SKS's so it's preban and it's an underfolder.

B-West imported Norinco Ak's and also built their own Ak's with an American made receiver with imported Norinco internal parts. The American made receivers were the ones to avoid as the bolt carrier guide rails lacked the proper heat treatment. These receivers were stamped "made in the usa". The B-West imported Norinco complete rifle has the better receiver.

Great....mine says made in the USA......

I bought it off a guy I know fairly well. He said it shoots well. I guess I can always sell it at the next show if it's what you say it is.

whats to say that you couldn't have it properly heat treated.

At my local Dealer they showed me a BWest receiver that had blown up brought back from a customer. Boy, that receiver was bend completely out of shape. Over the AK47.net, they said to shoot it at your own risk.

What about putting all the parts on one of the new stamped receivers?
I guess all the money I would put into it wouldn't be worth having the bayonet...

I guess it will go to first $$$ (what I paid for it) next time around
