Quoted: My last one was a 94. I bought it for $600 with 240,000 on the clock. In three years I put another 40k on it, four tires, and a starter. It had a rod knock the whole time, the radio and the AC didn't work, and I never rolled up the windows or locked it. Finally the transmission pump let go, and I gave it away to a co-worker just to make room in the driveway. It's still rolling around Mansfield, still has that light rod knock. It's probably rolled over to 300k by now. The white color also pairs well with the big green Monster logo on the back window.

Nice XJ, Deej. Get it.
For those who just don't understand XJs, well, they just don't understand. |

Why? Why what? You don't see those clean of Jeeps anymore. It's a 20 year old car with almost 100k on it. I know Cherokees had kind of a cult following and that looks like a decent specimen, but I think "I've never wanted for a vehicle so much in my life" is a little excessive... a JKU will walk circles around that thing in every measurable way, on-road or off. Show me a JKU that's <$6k. What's wrong, bad credit? Bank wouldn't approve you for a loan on your $12/hr job at the grocery store? |

Sold my 92 XJ earlier this year for $2500 with 405,000 miles on the odometer. I miss it. |

But I've matured, and don't get an erection when looking at older Jeeps anymore. |

Meh. My friend had a red one recently that was cleaner.
He just sold it. Originally bought it because it was in such great condition. |

Looks nice,Deej!
Congrats on the license. Glad I'm not riding my bike in your AO. If you're serious about the car, get an insurance quote beforehand, especially if you have to finance and carry comp/collision (which as nice as it is, you'd probably want to do anyway). With a new ticket and no prior coverag as a driver, insurance will be a bit higher for a year or two. |

Dad had a late 80's early 90's Cherokee that my sister and I loved. Thing just went forever.
Wish it wasn't so far away or I'd be interested in it. |

I could really ride in style on the deer lease in that thing. View Quote My first Cherokee had the factory Off road Package. My fishing buddy had a wrangler. We took mine to WY for a weekend fishing trip, and spent all day climbing around rocks in a canyon after trout. At day's end we got in my jeep, turned on the AC, cranked some Clint Black, and blasted down the dirt roads out at 50 mph. My buddy was impressed. |

You can do well buying stuff like that from dealerships. They seem to view them simply as old trade ins that get bad gas mileage, and price them low to get them off the lot.

Meh, it's not a GRAND Cherokee I remember the old Cherokees with the wood side panels were my Dad's dream cars. Edit: Wagoneers? Whaaaaat? I hope you are talking about the late model Wagoneers/Grand Cherokee. My 72 Wagoneer had Dana 44's front and rear, 360V8, Turbo400 xmsn with real time Quad-Trac w/ low range. That monster would damn near drive up a vertical wall. With stock suspension it rolled 31x10.5s it wasn't too hard to fit 35s. I had a XJ similar to that same color. I preferred the 4 door models over the 2 door. Mine had the 3.8 V6 which was a dog compared to the straight 6 we used it for a snow car. I had a 4ltr XJ too and it was a blast. |
