The cleanest, rust free, lowest mileage XJ I've ever seen in my life
Update: went to look at it before work(Saturday) not there. Checked the web: sold! |
|
It that the XJ that mysteriously looks like a Jeep Cherokee???

View Quote Damn nice Cherokee. Could only be better if it was a 2 door and 5 speed. |
|

Trade the gfs prius for it. She will thank you eventually.trust me.

That thing fell sideways down ugly mountain and hit every rock on the way
|
|
I had an '89. I don't even think it had a radio. One of the best damn vehicles I ever had. I had the budget lift kit and 30" yoko's. Spent more on the tires and wheels than I did on the truck. Climbed like a billy goat.

|
That doesn't look like a Ferrari.
I thought you couldn't drive. |

Why what? You don't see those clean of Jeeps anymore. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes It's a 20 year old car with almost 100k on it. I know Cherokees had kind of a cult following and that looks like a decent specimen, but I think "I've never wanted for a vehicle so much in my life" is a little excessive... a JKU will walk circles around that thing in every measurable way, on-road or off. |

I really, really want another Cherokee. Maybe the next one I'll keep, fourth times a charm and all.

Be jealous of this then:
For $1,500 I got an XJ country with 110k in mileage. For about another $1,000 I'll be almost in the same condition as yours. |

If you get it, let me know. I'll send you an extra tow chain I have. You're gonna need it. Do you have a friend with a vehicle that can tow it?

Quoted: Is XJ not the internal codename for the Cherokee View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: It that the XJ that mysteriously looks like a Jeep Cherokee??? Is XJ not the internal codename for the Cherokee My '90 XJ had well over 250,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. The straight-6 engine and the Asian-warner AW-5 transmission are bulletproof. I don't know about the years after '91 but the old XJs were great rigs. |

That had to have spent the majority of it's life outside of the rust belt. Sad thing is when I see someone buy an older super clean vehicle and put it on the road in the rust belt it ends up being just as rusty as the rest after one or two winters.

Interested whether it's an Illinois car or not, and then again the area of registration doesn't mean anything. Low mileage, easy to check for rust. I've a 2004 daily driver vehicle I purchased in Illinois with zero rust, just need to check it out before he buys |

View Quote Little high on the price, but it is a very clean XJ. I'd say fo, but try to deal them down to 4-5k. Then lift it and throw on 31s! |

I don't know about the years after '91 but the old XJs were great rigs. My last one was a 94. I bought it for $600 with 240,000 on the clock. In three years I put another 40k on it, four tires, and a starter. It had a rod knock the whole time, the radio and the AC didn't work, and I never rolled up the windows or locked it. Finally the transmission pump let go, and I gave it away to a co-worker just to make room in the driveway. It's still rolling around Mansfield, still has that light rod knock. It's probably rolled over to 300k by now. |

It's a neat clean looking Jeep. I'd drive it. It's only $6k, I say go for it!

Meh, it's not a GRAND Cherokee
I remember the old Cherokees with the wood side panels were my Dad's dream cars. Edit: Wagoneers? |

My 93 XJ looked like that when I bought it 12 years ago.
For real, an older couple bought it new, then the man died. Had 60,000 miles Paid $5,500 |

I could really ride in style on the deer lease in that thing.
