I was hoping the Kurds had some anti-armor weapons. Hope they've got a steady supply too. Unfortunately for them it seems like the Turks are steadily gaining ground: http://syria.liveuamap.com/ Hadji twitter says their current objective is a place called Manbij, which if I've got the pronunciation right sounds like something Turks would seek out. Then they're supposed to be pivoting to Al Bab in ISIS territory, but something tells me they're just going to keep hitting the Kurds. |

The US spent months assisting the SDF and YPG/YPJ to retake Manbij and it will be handed over to the Turks...so the Turks can keep their corridor to Raqqa open.Joe Biden was just in Turkey to announce that the Kurds had to retreat.
The whole goddamn situation is a farce.All I can figure on US policy is that the DOD and DOS aren't on speaking terms while Obama's official policy is "I've got under 150 days left,don't wanna hear about it". |
