My local Wallyworld has seemed to be clearancing out and not stocking as large a variety of 5.56 and 223 ammo. Independence 5.56, Federal 5.56, and Winchester 5.56 seem to have disappeared.

They still have cans of Fed M193 and Perfecta 223 50 round boxes on occasion, but many of the old stalwarts have had their tags pulled.  ZQI as expected is long gone too. What is the situation in your AO?

Election coming up - it's not "not being stocked", it's getting bought up.

I just saw to most 223 I've ever seen at mine. Probably 3-4k rounds in 100rd federal value packs.

And that could be, but usually when they plan to restock, they leave the tags up. And up til lately, they had no shortage of the aforementioned ammo on the shelf.  It has gone AWOL so to speak.

My local Wally World seems to never have any 22lr or .223/5.56 .   I've been in there early, middle of the week and pretty much random times and always nothing or the shelves is empty :(

I tried to pick up some last weekend. Their website said it was in stock but they didn't have any. I don't even have enough to fill my mags.

ETA: Isn't Walmart a big dem donor? I wonder if they got a heads up of something the dems plan on doing soon?

Same here. They really only stock federal black box and value packs, all .223. No zqi.

Plenty of it on the shelves.

Who buys ammo at brick and mortar stores?  That is unless you are in a communist state

Not related to Wal-mart, but I visited Academy earlier today and they had THOUSANDS or rounds of .22LR on the shelf.  Everything from bulk Thunderbolts to CCI and Federal Match.

Prices sucked, but they had piles.

Mine finally stopped receiving the ZQI 7.62 a few months back as expected. They clearanced out the Fiocchi 308 softpoint too and it's gone. The Federal 7.62 went away too.

I worked at cabelas in the warehouse and contrary to popular belief, our shipments of 22lr dried up as well.

I normally buy it from LGS's, sporting goods stores, etc when I find good deals, but I do pick and choose on stuff at WW when the price is right. I still buy the Perfecta 9mm, 45ACp, and 223 when it's in stock.

I just found it odd that some of the normally stocked stuff has been disappearing lately.

I'm convinced that 87% of the time, if Wal mart doesn't have something on the shelves, it's because they are incompetent and don't understand how to do a simple inventory and reorder low-stock or high-demand items, not because there's a panic

Lately, mine has seemed to have more pistol ammo in stock. .380, 9mm, .40 and .45 value paks all on hand. Prices are nothing to write home about.

They usually have Federal .223 100 paks, for $37.44 ea.

I've never seen anything else for AR's except the rare 150 pak of Federal .556 on strippers.
They have plenty of 20 round boxes of hunting type rounds. 7mm, .270 ,30/30 etc.

.22 is sparse too. Sometimes 100 or 50 paks of CCI, but no bulk paks since Sandy Hook.

i wouldn't be surprised if it's because of some agreement they had with the White House like with the decision to pull ARs
