Quoted: You guys should definitely ask your walmart drone to scan the clearance tagged rifles. Their prices on the tags are not always very accurate. The Ruger Americans were labeled at $328 on clearance, but then scanned at $199, and the Marlin .45-70 was labeled clearance at $538 and scanned at $299. I fent too Now I need to find a piece of budget glass that can give the American what it needs to match its capabilities. View Quote |

Our local Wal-Mart had their Ruger Americans marked down to $199 this morning (06, 308 & 243), and also had some Mossberg rifle in 223 on sale for $249.
I tried so hard to think of why I needed another rifle, but I just couldn't come up with anything. |

Narrowly missed a Henry 45-70 for $280 and passed over a pile of 17hmr and 22s (Remington 597 for $80). View Quote Hell of a score. I'd take them to the next gun show as trade pieces :) |

Checked my local WM this morning. They had a big rack in the isle with "clearance" ammo. Most of it was 12ga target loads and steel shot but none of it was priced much lower than regular. They had a few boxes of various .270, .30-06 loads for $15/each and some green/white box Remington .300 BO for around $16. None of the guns were clearance marked.

You made me check out my local walmart. They had the same stuff on clearance, but not nearly the same deal. $338 for Ruger Americans in 30-06, 308 and 243.
I might keep a close eye on it and see if they drop. |

Mine had red tags on all the Americans, the 45-70, and the Mossberg. Only small price discounts, $30 or so.
I tried to get the kid to scan them. It was like asking him to do quantum physics calculations. I will try again tomorrow when I have more time and maybe can get a manager. |

Local Walmart had the Marlin 45/70 for 299 and the Ruger American 30.06 for 199. The Ruger came home with me. They also had Remington .410 slugs 15 rd boxes for $7.

I was in the store for twenty minutes before I could confirm the price. They didn't have this caliber in the case, and a manager had to go get it out of the storage area. They also seemed like they didn't really want to sell a gun because it was a lot of paperwork. lol I then ordered the following off eBay: $125 Leupold VX1 3-9x40 (after $50 mail in rebate) $16 Leupold medium height rings $32 for a spare magazine So for under $400 I got a scoped deer rifle. https://s9.postimg.org/g6wi10nof/image.jpg View Quote Welcome aboard! |

Does anyone else find it odd Walmart is dumping guns and ammo right before not only hunting season but also what will be a huge rush if Hillary wins? It doesn't make any sense unless they have received a heads up of what is coming in exchange for all those donations they have made to the democrats. View Quote They do it every year or two-getting low sellers out to make more room. The one in my area clearance the above mentioned, and brought in some new models, one being a brass frame Henry in .44 magnum. |
