Our draft is Monday. Will use Sunday for preps.

My team, not real happy with it but I was 12/12 in the draft so you take what is available.  Didn't really want Charles but he was still there at #36 and felt like I had to take him.  If Charles can get back to normal and Bell comes off suspension then hopefully I'll do OK.  I reached for D. Williams but felt like I had to have him to hold me over till Bell comes back.

We had our draft last night.  14-team PPR snake draft, and I had 6th pick overall.

QB Phillip Rivers
RB Demarco Murray
RB  Jeremy Langford
WR Julio Jones
WR Brandon Marshall
TE Jordan Reed
FLEX Duke Johnson, Jr.
D/ST GB
K Blair Walsh

BN Chris Ivory
BN Devin Funches
BN Jay Ajayi
BN Kamar Aiken
BN Matt Ryan

I wasn't feeling too hot about my team, but compared to some others, I think I'll do fine.

Getting Julio 6th overall is outstanding. That's a very good squad in a 14 teamer IMO.

Did a 8 man PPR draft 6th pick.  Yeah 8 person sucks but it's not that easy to find fantasy footballers here

QB: Luck

WR: Julio

WR: Evans

RB: Zeke

RB: CJ Anderson

Superflex: D Thomas

TE: Walker

Def: Vikings (streaming)

K: Gostkowski

BN: Bortles

BN: TY Hilton

BN: Randall Cobb

BN: Duke Johnson

BN: Gio Bernard

BN: Bortles

BN: C Michael (biggest opponent has Rawls)

How did I do?  I could have taken McCoy instead of Evans and then Alshon would have probably been there.  I'm kicking myself for taking Evans instead but then again Alshon is injury prone.  But for some reason everyone avoided WRs so thats why my WRs are stacked.

My problem is should I put in Bortles, TY, DT or Cobb in my superflex.  That will be a damn hard one and I may just have to change from week to week.  Thinking of using TY week 1 since the Colts are vs DET, whereas Broncs are vs CAR and Jags are vs GB

In a super flex you almost always go QB early. Bortles starts no question. General rule for super flex is qb1 by rnd 2. QB2 by rnd 4.

Pretty good.   Charles practicing with backups...they might take some time before easing Charles back in.

Almost a must start depending on Charles news.

I see that Justin Forsett got cut. Both Terrance West and Javorious Allen are available.

Who of the following would you drop? PPR

None of the above; the BAL RB situation is a dumpster fire.  If you twisted my arm I'd drop Ryan depending on who your other QB is.

Phillip Rivers. Not too keen on dropping Ryan. QBs are scarce in this 14 team league as multiple teams have 3 QBs with only 5 bench spots.

In that case Aiken, as the Bal RB situation seems a little clearer today than the Bal WR situation does.

PPR league means that QB early doesn't really work as well as standard.

I treat QB as having a higher floor but lower ceiling, and it's really matchup based.  That's why I don't automatically choose QB in the superflex

10 team standard this time, picked 5.

QB: Luck

WR: Julio

WR: Evans

RB: Lamar Miller

RB: McCoy

WR/RB: Watkins

TE: Ertz (waited a long time)

K: Vinateri

D: Bengays (streaming)

BN: Gordon

BN: Gore

BN: Lockett

BN: D Henry

BN: Marvin Jones

BN: Golden Tate

Went for a couple of safer plays on the bench in Gore and Tate, with upside everywhere else.  Picked up Jones to basically lock up the Lions WRs.  Weak spot is TE, but I'm pretty high on Ertz this year

I have pick #4 tonight out of 12. .5ppr, we start QB, RB, WR, WR, Flex WR/T/RB, TE, DEF, K.

I have pick four and I think it will come down to either David Johnson or Julio Jones. I really want Johnson. What are your thoughts?

If you can snag a top 3 receiver do so. Julio is a target and catch monster. Otherwise Johnson. I really like picking from 4

You should be good. Now do me.

Somebody dropped Houston DST. I have KC. I normally stream defenses but it's nice to not have to constantly pick one every week. I have KC. KC has better playoff matchups so I'm staying with KC.

Also colts d sucks. Go grab somebody else.

KC all the way.

Streaming is easy with QOTD if you know what I mean. But you could probably ride KC for the most part and stream tough weeks.

I used to just steam dst every week until the rest of the league picked up on what I was doing. Now they're bidding 3 bucks FAAB for a defense every week. Know your league. I will say the whole take DST and K last really depends on what everybody is doing.

Do I take a flyer who I may never start or a top 6 DST and not worry about it. I'm liking the stress free approach. Get that top DST and kicker. Start a trend. Even though it goes against tradition. Throws them off. Once you're team is stacked with starters make others follow.

Oh shit!  There's a run on DST in round 8!!!?  WTF auto draft.

Definitely gotta "play your league".

I always try and scoop one of the top 8 or so but I'm ALWAYS looking for the hidden DST to stream for any given week. There's 2 DSTs that are matchup proof, IMO, and even then . .

I've always felt that if your DST isn't a top four, you can't be married to them.

I scooped KC in the eleventh this year and I think that's a steal. I'll still be studying QOTDs streamers when he starts circulating them again. It hasn't failed me yet.

What's everyone think about this trade? Had my draft last night and ended up with...

1. David Johnson
2. Mike Evans
3. Jordan Reed
4. Golden Tate
5. Carlos Hyde
6. Crabtree
7. DeAngelo Williams
8. Ware
9. Eli Manning
10. Eifert
11. Corey Coleman
12. Mike Wallace
13. NYJ Def
14. Brand McManus K

So we start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex (WR/TE/RB), 1 TE. 1 K, 1 DEF. The guy who has LeVeon Bell wants his handcuff so he wants Williams from me. Offered me Sterling Shepherd for Williams. Thoughts? This is a half point PPR league.

His team: Brees, Landry, AJ Green, Jonathan Stewart, Kelce, Decker, Bell, Shepherd, Michael Thomas, Wheaton, Bennette. Thinking of countering with Williams for Decker?

I wouldn't.  Williams has put up some points when called upon. Shepard is too much of an unknown.
Link Posted: 9/7/2016 2:07:05 PM EDT
[#33]
I don't like it.  D. Williams will be a top 10 back for 3 weeks and one of the highest end handcuffs and Shepard is a rookie and kinda small.  I'd ask for a starter in return.  Or look at where you drafted Williams and go after who he drafted around then.

Williams ADP is 85, Shepard is 77 so apparently they're pretty close.  I'd still want to get the most out of williams the 1st 3 weeks so maybe tell him you'll do it after that.  That's what I'm doing with williams, riding him and then trading him (or maybe even hold on to see if bell gets hurt again not that I ever wish for that but I typically carry one lottery ticket of the top handcuffs just in case.  By top handcuffs I mean guys who can step in and produce RB1 value.

Do you think it would be a good idea to try to trade williams for Decker? Williams may only be starter for three weeks but I could get a legit borderline WR1 out of Decker for rest of the season. I have David Johnson as my RB1 and we only start one RB spot. I could put Hyde in my Flex spot hes supposed to tear it up this year.

Of fuck yes!  You're weak at receiver.

I think Crabtree is better than Tate, many may disagree.  The experts sure do but he continually disappoints.  Your call on who to package and who you like better, I still think you'd be much better off at receiver and it'd be a good trade.

I'd hang on to Williams and try to trade Ware off to the JC owner for a receiver.  The writing is on the wall for JC to be inactive week 1 and Ware will be a top 10 sub immediately.  JC will likely be back week 3 (or sooner) and the Chiefs will morph into a RBBC by necessity.  Sell Ware while his value is at it's highest and avoid playing the RBBC guessing game for the next several weeks.  At least with D. Williams you know he is going to be the guy weeks 1-3 and not the guy after that.  A lot easier to plan around that then wondering who is going to play the most for KC that week.

You've got Johnson to plug into RB and Williams is a very nice flex play for weeks 1-3.  Hopefully by week 4 we'll have a clearer picture of how the season is shaping up.

He needs Williams bad.  You could use an upgrade at WR but you're not desperate. If you are dead-set on parting with Williams I'd tell him Williams for Decker straight up, not interested in giving up more.  Remind him that you are planning on starting Williams in the flex weeks 1-3.

Tate and Decker are more or less equal value.  That trade would be giving up Williams for free.

Getting Julio 6th overall is outstanding. That's a very good squad in a 14 teamer IMO.

We had our draft last night.  14-team PPR snake draft, and I had 6th pick overall.

QB Phillip Rivers
RB Demarco Murray
RB  Jeremy Langford
WR Julio Jones
WR Brandon Marshall
TE Jordan Reed
FLEX Duke Johnson, Jr.
D/ST GB
K Blair Walsh

BN Chris Ivory
BN Devin Funches
BN Jay Ajayi
BN Kamar Aiken
BN Matt Ryan

I wasn't feeling too hot about my team, but compared to some others, I think I'll do fine.

+1 that team is nice for a 14 teamer

Just saw this thread. We drafted on Monday. 14 team, standard, flex. What do you think?

Didn't include K or DEF because doesn't matter. I stream DEF anyway.

First time doing 14 team. Makes it interesting. Our draft went really fast too. Got it done in 1hr 45min. Draft timer helps.

What's everyone think about this trade? Had my draft last night and ended up with...

1. David Johnson
2. Mike Evans
3. Jordan Reed
4. Golden Tate
5. Carlos Hyde
6. Crabtree
7. DeAngelo Williams
8. Ware
9. Eli Manning
10. Eifert
11. Corey Coleman
12. Mike Wallace
13. NYJ Def
14. Brand McManus K

So we start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex (WR/TE/RB), 1 TE. 1 K, 1 DEF. The guy who has LeVeon Bell wants his handcuff so he wants Williams from me. Offered me Sterling Shepherd for Williams. Thoughts? This is a half point PPR league.

Deangelo is a top-5 or better rb for the first four weeks.  He will literally be carrying some teams in that span, I predict.  After that he will have a role still.  I would definitely not trade him for sterling Shepherd if I were you as there's no guarantee at all that Shepherd will even Crack your starting lineup with Evans, tate, Crabtree.  Deangelo will lose value but he could push you to a very strong start, and all kinds of shit happens.

I don't know that I'd trade him for decker either.  Is decker that much of an upgrade over tate/Crabtree? To lose a rb who starts the first month as an elite player and could continue as such?  Then you're starting Carlos Hyde week1, and the niners might play every quarter of the season from behind and not run much.  And chip Kelley always ruins rb's for fantasy.  Keep Deangelo unless blown away.  Leveon Bell was a terrible first round pick, out 4 weeks, injury/suspension history, "backup" who ALWAYS gets it done.

Hyde is a total unknown in the new system and niners terrible OL and chip Kelley madness.

Hold Deangelo. Remember there will be tons of guys that come outta nowhere that you will be picking up.

Of fuck yes!  You're weak at receiver.

-edt-
But I highly doubt the other team would entertain it.  That would be a steal for you.

Disagree. Not a huge difference between decker/tate/Crabtree at this point.  Tate is Stafford #1 wr and Crabtree gets his.  And then you're relying too heavily on Hyde etc.  I also think the other guy would do it, if he's smart. Don't FO

Hes entertaining it. But I think I will need to package up a Crabtree/Williams for him.

U getting raped son!

Decker and Crabtree are not so different as to be worth a top 5 rb for the first quarter + who the hell knows with leveon.

U getting raped!
