Much confusion in the other thread so I started over.

I thought I'd throw this dog out there and see what happens. My friend Carol can get me this dog. She has helped with other dogs, most recently Charlie, Elsa (Hope) and Keegan.

I will get him, vet him and start his training for you. I can tell this is going to be a good dog.

Okay, the white dog now has a name, Snow. Somebody get Snow!

This beautiful white shepherd mix is a male from Elliott County. He is rather timid but fine around people and other dogs. He needs time to adjust since he was just pulled from the holding pen. He is not a very big guy and weighs about 40-45lbs. He needs to put on a little weight, but he's a very nice dog. I would guess that he's about a year old. These dogs have not been vetted, due to lack of funds, but we do make sure that they are placed in a situation where they will be altered and receive necessary vet care (That would be Joker1

Just noticed, double rear dew claws? Is that a sign of being part Anatolian Shepherd? I'll wait for Namaah to weigh in.

ETA, while I was typing the above Namaah was posting in another thread that she thinks the double dew claws are indication of Great Pyrenees ancestors!

I will post more pics and info when they arrive.

This is spouse of BlackdogGS: Many accolades to Joker1 for rescuing & caring for dogs who have come from bad circumstances. Why, in the 21st century in the U.S. there are so many thousands of homeless dogs & cats & so many more thousands of ignorant humans who let indiscriminate breeding occur is incomprehensible. Both our dogs were taken off the country roads in Yakima County, Wahington, years ago. The people at shelters, rescue organizations, individual rescuers & all people involved in saving all species are like saints & deserve great credit for their time, effort, resources in helping the animals. Thank you.??

My childhood dog was a Shepard mix named Snow. About the same size as him, little more shepherd looking face though.

I wish I could. Have two already. I hope he finds a good new home.

Joker, could you ping me when have a second please? I'd like to talk to you about him. We're interested in giving him a home but I have two little ones and I'm a little nervous about adopting a dog who might not be comfortable in that situation.

Also, I live in Florida.

Thank you to Mattyvac for both his offer to help Snow as well as his graciousness. The other family was first (barely) but i couldn't communicate it on Arfcom.

Now for some fun!

When cleaned up and fed he's going to be gorgeous!

" I am having Snow neutered, heartworm tested, and vaccinated for rabies on Thursday." So I'll probably get him Saturday.

I just got off the phone. The meet and transfer of Snow/Arrow to me is confirmed for 4=30 Wednsday. All reports indicate a very sweet dog.

I got him last night. The poor boy is absolutely emaciated. He had 3 kinds of worms and was the worst flea infestation I have seen. He was wormed. I gave him his distemper shot in the car right after I got him. He got a very thorough flea bath as soon as we got to the cabin. Food. I'm giving him food. He weighs 49, I want him to weigh 65.

What a great personality this dog has. Calm and affectionate. No food aggression and only a little snarling when he first met my crew. Meeting 11 strange dogs at once is quite the stress test. I took him into the city with me and he met 4 more dogs with zero issues. He's watching TV with us now.

From the pick up (I had been gutting the new SFDR location all day when I left to get him. Hence looking like hell):

Pretty sure that dog is or has a lot of Great Pyrenees in him. I have a full stock one that is a year old and he has 6 toes on 3 paws. Sixth toe being an extra dew claw each time. It's a breed specific trait.

They are excellent dogs but mine barks at everything which is in there nature to guard and protect. Look the breed up you may see a lot of traits in your dog
