A "safety inspection"?
 If the boat owner shows that they have the required safety equipment, they should not be searching the boat without a fucking warrant. But even "safety checks" are unconstitutional, IMO. No probable cause, get the fuck off my boat.

I'm not sure why this guy didn't just go around Long Island he could have avoided the east river and NYC. But I'm glad they arrested this obviously violent criminal, now the water ways will remain safe.  He probably wanted to dock at NYC, that is what yachts do. Some Russian oligarch made the news a few years ago when he docked for a few weeks with surface to air missiles.
