I can eat spicy mexican food, chili, etc.  Every time I eat spicy chicken though it tears the shit out of my stomach.  I am a glutton for punishment though.  I keep thinking it must be a fluke but I guess it's part of getting old.  I had spicy church's chicken at noon and when I got left work at 6pm I was becoming uncomfortable.  I probably won't feel right till morning.  I had a Chicfila spicy sandwich a couple months back that seemed a little spicier than normal which isnt that hot honestly but I was miserable for literally 12 hours.   I think I am really going to swear off Popeyes, Church's, and Chicfila spicy options.  Sucks....

Does this happen to anyone else?  I can eat Habanero sauces just fine or all manner of much spicier food without issue.

I know but it  tears my stomach  up.  I can eat habanero sauce/salsa or other much spicier things fine without issue, but spicy chicken does something to me.

I moved to Mobile from Oklahoma in December.  I used to eat the shit out of Popeyes but I only do occasionally now due to the pain afterwards and the regular chicken just wont do.

I go into Thai restaurants and immediately let them know that their food is NOT spicy, because their chef is a Malay bitch.

Chick fila spicy messes me up every single time. None of their other stuff does just their spicy chicken.

I enjoy every other spicy chicken, Popeyes, etc.  and have no problems, just chick fila.

Thai Chillis for me.  I can eat just about anything hot (normal person hot), but those must have some slightly different chemical in them cause they just kill my stomach.

Sounds like it's not the spice.  I'd guess it's the grease.

Interesting, maybe a reaction to a specific spice?

A lot of fast food places dose their "spicy" chicken with cayenne.  I don't mind hot, but cayenne does not agree with me.

Thread fail. I thought this was about Spicy Chicken Teriyaki that has been marinated overnight in an Asian (typically Vietnamese or Korean) Red Chili sauce then an extra ladle of sauce is thrown on just before being served.

Some places I go to have chicken so potent that the Styrofoam boxes start breaking down if you let that stuff sit around too long

So good that it hurts!

Local grocery store makes fried chipotle chicken. It's so damn good but I will suffer for a day, acid burning stomach with a many trips to the bathroom. I begrudgingly have to avoid it at all cost now.

Same here. I love the taste, but damn if it doesn't tear me up something fierce in the gut sometimes. I'm not sure what it is. It seems that with me the spicy food burns more on the way out than it does on the way in.
