Set in Cold War era early 50s.
A black female pilot becomes The Rocketeer...I mean, we're already talking about flying jetpack crime-fighters here I guess, buuuuut... The new take keeps the story in a period setting and offers a fresh view on the characters. Set six years after the original Rocketeer and after Secord has vanished while fighting the Nazis, an unlikely new hero emerges: a young African–American female pilot, who takes up the mantle of Rocketeer in an attempt to stop an ambitious and corrupt rocket scientist from stealing jet-pack technology in what could prove to be a turning point in the Cold War. Lol, they had to make the rocketeer a black woman.
Sounds like another Ghostbusters, that will make even less money, because no one really gives a flying shit about The Rocketeer. I'll continue to not watch this, just like the upcoming "The Mummy" remake. |

Disney might actually fuck something up! Way to take a page out of Sony's book.

Th pandering will continue until "all reparations" are paid.
Fuck you Disney, fuck you very much. Enough of this crap. Reality is lost upon the majority of the population. |
|
LOL
I literally said to myself, upon reading the title, but before clicking, "it's gonna be a woman or a minority". Guess I was double right. |
|
well I guess that leaves Jennifer Connelly out of the picture.........I won't be watching it.

Who TF is dumb enough to keep pumping 100 mil + into these diversity bombs? Joe investor.

I've always heard that Disney considered The Rocketeer to be a financial flop that under-performed expectations. I remember when it came out Disney was pushing it hard to be the next big thing with tons of marketing and merch that all kind of fell on deaf ears.
They must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel if this is the best remake they can come up with, regardless of gender / race bait casting. |

I actually came here to make a snarky comment akin to "Watch them make him a black female" and ....
Shit, man. I've been out-trolled by the insanity. |

They just don't get it do they.
Go to a library and pick out a damn book for heavens sake. It ain't rocket science. |

No Jennifer?
No Nazis? No zeppelins? What could the film possibly have that would make it even remotely appealing? |
|
Looks like Hollyweird really has set "diversity" quotas after the Oscars.

Ah, I remember that movie. I was very young when it came out. Something about his gas tank leaking and he used bubblegum to seal it, and him flying through some laundry hanging in someone's yard.
Another unwanted, unnecessary remake that they had to replace a white male with a Diversity. This will probably get panned harder than Ghostbusters. |

If it's set 6 years after the original, then it will take place in 1944.
I love the original Rocketeer. |

Why don't we just remake EVERY film in history and replace all of the white leads with black main characters. Would that be enough virtue signalling from hollywood?
Seriously, FUCK. YOU. DISNEY. |
|
So Disney expects me to believe that in 1944 there is a black female pilot when we had barely let black male pilots fight in the war 3 or so years earlier.
Right.... Good job Disney. |

Oh, the first movie didn't make much of an impression, shouldn't be too hard to impro, oh, another SJW butcher piece.

So... going from white people fighting nazis to a black lady fighting commies? Sounds like The Americans in reversed roles.

Disney is taking all of their profits from Star Wars and dumping it into turds.

View Quote I'ts gotta be farther out than 1944, right? We started dominating the air war in Europe in 1945 with mustangs IIRC. I mean, I'd be ok with a P-51 Red Tail dude becoming the new Rocketeer even. |
