Two junior officers managed to set fire to their mess after allegedly having a duel with flare guns after a boozy formal dinner. The2nd lieutenants apparently climbed into kayaks in the outdoor swimming pool at Allenby Barracks in Bovington and began firing at each other on Friday night. But one of the flares, designed to call for help at sea, managed to start a major fire in the seven-story mess, which has been badly damaged. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3708698/Soldiers-set-British-Army-barracks-ablaze-firing-FLARES-duel.html |

This was normal between Companies in the 82nd at one time.
We had a health and welfare one time where enough pyro was found in the ceilings to outfit the Platoon for at least 2 days of deployment outside the wire. Funny thing is most of the Privates and E-4s didn't know it was even there. |

Improvised weapons, irregular warfare, they found their way to the boathouse ( ... and may even be able to recall what color it is) .... These two were just deep selected for SAS, and needed to stage a fake dismissal for their cover story. |

I had heard pilots getting the shit scared out of them passing over the barracks from a Pope take off. |

Ha! Pretty good. I've got some E3/E4 stories that top it, though.
Can't go there though. I would not be surprised if there are people still looking for us. |

Do the British still drum members out of the service for offenses?

As much as we bitch obout the countries themselves, the Commonwealth militaries are FAR less PC than our own.

Sounds like a good time. The brits were a shitload of fun off duty.

Reminds me of the times I used to have Roman Candle duels around the campfire! |

Damn.
I bet one of them said "Come on Pookie, we're gonna burn this mother down!" |

I always thought the correct name for that rank was Leftenant.
