14.5 BA Hanson .625 middy melonite
13" ALG EMR v2 DDC

I live in a border town and am building this as trunk gun, so it will be p&w and suppressor compatability is not a consideration; this is just gonna be a simple 5.5lb compact rig.

Anybody have a similar setup with a muzzle device they like?  Something that looks good on a skinny barrel?  I'm a nubile p&w virgin.

if you have to shoot in a confined space (very possible for a truck gun!) you won't want a brake. I just run flash hiders on everything now.

Truck gun? Little to no time to put on ear pro? Im thinking a PIG.

BE Meyers.  That thing will kill the flash as well as any silencer.  Additionally, it's not a brake so your ears are only destroyed and not obliterated.

My favorite muzzle device is the thing that screws on to the end of my 51t mount.

I did put a Levang linear compensator on a 7.5 inch upper and it worked very well at keeping noise and flash down.

Flash suppressor plus blast shield or KAC TT.

Seriously, the Griffin would be cool, but only with the shield.

Should have got a 16" and put a thread protector on it.  I wish there were more non-threaded barrel options. Yes, I'm aware they can be cut and recrowned but that adds to the cost.

Wish I could help, I put 51T mounts on all of my stuff.  On my truck gun and cheap rifles I use the bullshit Flash Hider / Brake combos they make.  Ended up getting a hell of a deal on a few that where clearanced lol

This.  You want that whole blast going out the window.

Noveske Pig, KAK Flash Can, etc.

BE Meyers is up there on the list.  Kinda pricey but pretty badass.  Definitely not getting a brake!  I have a braked 16" stainless heavier barrel rifle if i need to be an obnoxious range butthule.

I like the idea, but the dang things are pricey as hell, especially for a trunk/bang-around gun.  also not lightweight.

I have not used one ever.

Better than an a2x, be meyers, vortex, etc?

There would be one benefit to linear comp - legality when driving thru kommie states.

Their weight is fucking me up in the head.  I like the idea of sticking below 5.5 lbs.
I will probably shoot this one a lot for fun also. gonna be a fun build:
BA Hanson .625 middy 14.5
13" EMR v2 DDC
Matched Aero Precision upper/lower
SSA-E
acog or aimpoint (probably swap around here and there)
maybe x300/tlr1 on the 12 o'clock rail part out front?

Sounds like youre looking at flash suppressors but a linear comp could help save your ears in the event you actually need to shoot your truck gun without ear pro.

The Linear Comp is to direct blast away from the shooter, such as a Pig and other variants.  The KAK flash can is the same thing as the Noveske but made out of aluminum.  KAW valley looks a little lower profile and maybe not as heavy.

With that pencil barrel and ALG rail you will have a light gun.  Try not to get too caught up in meeting a weight quota.  A loaded 30rd mag is about 1lb itself.

What about linear for p&w? Wont be able to clean, would that be an issue? Leaning towards be249, vortex, a2x, sf3p...  sf3p has pilot hole and is qpq like barrel.

KAK flash can is aluminum, would be the lightest option that will direct flash/blast forward

Anyone have a pic of a kak alu flash can on a 14.5 barrel with 13" rail?

How come people are pushing it over good FH like be meyers 249, sf3p vortex etc? The above are used by .mil, arent they?

I am not all that concerned about actually having to shoot from inside a vehicle, if it comes to that i figure as long as i dont have a brake itll be good enuff?  If it comes to fighting around a vehicle im gonna try to hightail it outta there before using my car door as cover.  Mostly im just looking for best p&w option that isnt suppressor dependent.  Hopefullh, 100% of the time it will not be shot inside a vehicle lol.

Ive shot rifles in enclosed spaces with no ear pro before.

Also looking for something that looks good on pencil barrel, if there's any difference.  Hard to find comparative pics on modern style carbine setups.

Mostly for travel reasons that are beyond the point here, this needs to
be 0% Nfa.  Just simple nice lightweight blaster.

A2X is a great and inexpensive muzzle device.

OP - We have similar taste (14.5 Hanson and 13 ALG EMR V3)

Sexay.  I woulda thought the barrel woulda stuck out a touch more.  That looks great.

I'm also all about the dd fixed sights :)

I can already tell this is gonna be a fun shooter.

OK it'seems between a2x and sf3p

you spelled truck wrong

i put the Kak flash can on my truck gun, it's cheap and it works to direct the blast away from me, I find it
beneficial if I ever do have to use it and can't put on ear pro.

Unfortunately the short flash can is only 1.7" long (not enuff) and the regular is 3.3" long (1.3" longer than necessary)

9mm... Then leave naked or use a thread protector. Dont fuck with short 5.56s without some type of earpro.  Sure, you'd trade hearing for your life, but I expect you might want to use it for other purposes too...
