I think it was called the sloop john b by the beach boys.  In it one of their lines was "we want to go home".  Reason I remember it,  one of the guys in my
company had a transistor radio and it seemed like every time he turned it on that song would be on.  Home was where we all wanted to be so it had
quite an effect on us.  Fifty years ago and it seems like yesterday.

With Authentic Hippies.
(when I was a kid during that time period, we called them Beatniks-not many Hippies in my little isolated hometown)

Yep, am aware of that, same as Huddy Ledbetter,--- Leadbelly----He , wrote 'The Midnight Special', 'Cottonfields'--- CCR covered them well in the '60's as well as 'Gallows Pole' covered by Led Zepellin, 'Goodnight Irene', 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night'.....
The Old IS New Again......A few Generations Later...

Did you like that version better or The Beau Brummelstones?

One Tin Soldier by The Original Caste (Coven owns this song - it's not an easy listening piece.)

Did Henry M make it in yet?

60s has to have the best music.

Lots of great stuff here, but you cant forget these guys. especially since its the 47th anniversary.

The Woodstock Music & Art Fair—informally, the Woodstock Festival or simply Woodstock—was a music festival attracting an audience of over 400,000 people, scheduled over three days on a dairy farm in New York state from August 15 to 17, 1969, but which ran over four days to August 18, 1969.

WOW!
Never heard that before.
Almost sounds like it inspired 'The Doors An American Prayer'.
