Pogba at OT for physical today.

Not sure the fee is well spent, two players worth of cash.

And Mata got dick slapped again.

I feel dirty...

Yes free transfer. I think Bailly might be the suprise get.

Not smart

But he has speed size and good in the air. He was in on a couple of good interceptions and tackles.

He is only 22. It took Smalling 2 yrs to get it going.

Things are not going well for relegated friends.

Newcastle lost their Championship opener to Fulham who finished 20th of 24 last season.

Villa, after also losing their opener, was eliminated by League 2 side Luton Town in the League Cup first round.  http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/luton-town-3-aston-villa-11733329.

The pressure is already building on Raf Benitez and Roberto Di Matteo.

I honestly don't know the composition of skill in the Champion's league, but I thought Newcastle was too talented to fall out of the EPL.  It came as a bit of a shock to me.  I would be equally shocked if they weren't right back in it next year.  Villa on the other hand....from what I saw that big 'ol stadium at Villa Park could sit near empty for a decade or two...

Think of this. When was the last time Leeds United was in the EPL? They were a power team. They blew up in 2001.

All my EPL buddies moved to the other side of the watch. Having to watch the games alone isn't as fun.

But hey we pay for a premium satellite package in the breakroom so we get all the games, that's a plus

I figured Leicister would have a let down this season.  Early yet, but losing to newly promoted Hull City might be a sign.

If Mertesacker and Gabriel hadn't gotten hurt, I think Arsenal might have ended up with Mahrez.  Instead they've had to switch their attention to getting another central defender.

There was a recent report of a meeting with Mahrez and Conte.   But there's another team that needs central defenders...
