http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/06/30/fox-news-poll-fewer-americans-feeling-proud.html

The number of Americans proud of their country has dropped significantly in the last five years, according to the latest Fox News Poll.

Pride is down 19 percentage points:  69 percent of voters were proud of America in 2011.  It’s 50 percent today.

And 46 percent say they aren’t proud, up from 28 percent.

Even so, more voters feel proud than think the Founders would be.

When asked how the Founding Fathers would feel if they could see the country today, just 19 percent think they would be proud.  That’s also down -- it was 26 percent in 2011.

Three quarters (75 percent) say the Founders wouldn’t be proud of the nation.

Obama has succeeded in his fundamental transformation of this nation. Hopefully we can take it back come November. Poll results such as this give me a degree of hope in that regard. It was the malaise that fell upon this nation following the Vietnam War and the embarrassments we suffered as a nation under Jimmy Carter's leadership in the late 1970s that largely led to Ronald Reagan's victory. While Trump isn't Ronald Reagan, he does have a message that appeals to American voters in the same way Reagan's message resonated. Americans don't traditionally like limp dick losers. We like winners. Trump, like Reagan did, expresses the same sort of "can-do" optimism and pride in nation. I for one can only hope that a silent majority of this nation is fed up with the apologist in chief's actions in diminishing America on the world stage and will vote for someone who can help us restore pride in our country like we once had.

Only the Progressive Socialists.  They are really the only ones.  They hate our country.

I'm tired of watching Obama bow and apologize to every damned leader out there.
It makes us look like a nation of pussies.

I doubt the founders would be surprised. Disappointed maybe, once they got over how impressive the country's wealth and technology are.

I don't buy it. Not around here anyway. I see more flags flying than ever. As I drive through my state I ponder "I never see pictures of other countries with a flag flying at nearly every house and flag decals on cars"

One term of Carter gave us this.  But after two terms of Obama, not even Charlie Daniels can save us.

I call BS.  Another attempt of the press trying to sway public opinion.

Everywhere I go I see pride. Also distrust of the MSM.

I'm proud of what our nation once was, but not of what it has become.

I'm proud to be an American, I am not proud of the decisions that have been made in the last 8 years.

I do not feel proud every time that Obama apologizes for American Greatness. I do not feel proud when I see police, standing on the sidelines while one political party's attendee is attacked by a rabid leftist.

I do not feel proud when I see the flag burned.

I do not feel proud when I see the BLM.

I do not feel proud when a Trump Supporter, berates Ted Cruz with fanatical chanting "BUILD THE WALL" when Cruz was trying to open a dialog.

I do not feel proud, when the Republicans are not supporting the nominee after making a huge deal about it themselves.

I am not proud of the disservice of the vets, even after the VA scandal exposed just how fucked it is.

The next president is going to have a lot on their plate, and I can only hope that if its Trump, he focuses on more than the wall and does something about the economy and the rampant abuse of social aid.

Am I supposed to be proud of the last 8 years of fundamental change?  What is crazy, is most Americans have not lost their way, we simply live in a system that is beyond our control within any legal or political framework.  Everyone knows things are getting absurd and crazy, but we can't really do much about it. The system is out of reach, and the media, academics, and elites in this country are not on our side speaking generally.

Am I still proud of Americans, yes mostly, but I am not proud of our government, most in it, nor the people who metaphorically pull the strings in this country.

America is on the right track

But the locomotive appears to be on the wrong end of the train pulling the opposite direction.
