I've been searching for a '16 TRD Pro in Quicksand. Almost had one yesterday the dealer was asking $40,899 for it... when I saw the price I jumped on it but some SOB in FL already put a deposit on it to be picked up this weekend
So back to searching. |

We looked at several used 4Runner's and it just did not make sense to buy used. I hate buying new cars but for $32k in 2010 we got a new SR5 with leather and a sunroof. Used ones (2007 to 2009) were $25k or more and a Limited with leather was $32k with a lot of miles. F that. Similar with new trucks, the prices are crazy for used. I went new with my Ram and got $11k off with rebates/incentives/discount and got to order exactly what I wanted. Not to mention 0% interest.

I miss my 87 4Runner with the removable hard top back. What a tank of a truck, ran for over 250,000 miles and almost 18 years until my brother wrecked it. No repairs outside of regular maintenance, decent gas milage, great offroading.

GF bought the 2016 Pro and it is badass, I just stole a 2001 limited with 150k on the clock. What color is the BroPro? Black, I get compliments on it, every time I drive it. I think she paid 50k, Windows are tinted with the ceramic tint, expensive but worth every penny, really need it in this GA heat. Ceramic tint? Cuts down on the uv and the heat, some actually put a clear on the front windshield to block the heat. |

We were looking at 4runners and explorer sports and went with the explorer sport ecoboost because it had a much nicer interior and damn near 100hp more. I've always liked Toyota but they need to up their game on the 4Runner. And all vehicle prices are now crazy. View Quote Correct, new or used. I don't even want or like cars/ vehicles anymore. I had interested in them when I was a kid and now that I'm of age I'd rather not buy anything at all. Talk about a buzz kill. Kids were getting out of college years ago getting $60k/yr jobs, minimal if any loans, buying new sports cars and driving them. Now I'm like, can I get a $6k civic? |

I was the original owner 03 Sport Edition (V8) with almost 250K miles and sold it for $5K. I probably could've squeezed more but it had a cracked manifold at the time of sale.
It was a good vehicle but wasn't perfect. Below is stuff I had to replace most was maintenance but not all. - Transfercase leak (actuator) - Replaced with salvaged case - Replaced Rotors and Calipers (Ate through a few sets) - Replaced Front wheel bearings - Replace muffler - Replaced leaky CV axle - Replaced multiple bulbs (headlight, taillight, dash, license plate). - Replaced 5 windshields - Replaced plugs a few times - 3 sets of tires - AC Fuse - 02 sensors - Replaced XREAS suspension with FJC coils and Bilstein 5100 shocks - Swaybar end links - Timing Belt\Water pump x3 (expensive maintenance) - Dash Cracked (Couldn't get dealer to fix) - Driver side seat mounts (Couldnt get dealer to fix and it wobbled) - Skid plate completely rusted through and frame was starting to rust badly - Cracked passenger side manifold - 1 battery |

The Toyota 4runner does not actually burn fuel. It accepts it as a sacrifice. The large hadron collier is actually an experiment to find out what the 4runner is made of. Toyota made a promotional film describing the construction of the first 4Runner. It is called "NEON GENESIS EVANGELLION" The reason Toyota used a tundra instead of a 4Runner to tow the shuttle was that the 4runner would've ripped the landing gear off. The 4Runner does not actually drive. It rotates the Earth to your desired position. The Paris Dakar rally is loosely based on one 4Runner owner's daily commute. The Taliban uses Hiluxes because 4Runners are subject to international arms controls as WMDs. The 4runner's window sticker lists William Wallace's entire speech from Braveheart. Shakespeare's soliloquy in Henry V is based on a sales presentation given to all sales people before Toyotathon 1988. |

Toyota does not build them as good as they used to. I have a 1999 Tacoma that was 14 years old and had 140K miles before I did any maintenance other than oil changes, two sets of tires, and two batteries. Even the factory brake pads lasted that long. I have a 2007 Tundra with 60K miles, it is a great truck but has little cosmetic things break here and there. It has always been garaged but the window seals are dryrotting and a few small interior things have broken. The paint also scratches if you look at it wrong. I love both but even Toyota has cut some corners in the past few years. That being said both are worlds better than a year equivalent from the big three. View Quote That's about the only gripe we have with my wife's '13 Highlander. Paint's like mush. That and the parking brake won't hold the vehicle in neutral on a slight incline. Other than that it has been a great ride. 35000 miles, serviced by the manual and the factory tires replaced last year. |
