Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What are you doing for Memorial Day?

So being a child of military veterans, (both Dad and Step-Dad) Memorial Day has a different meaning to me than others. I have many friends who are Vets and have done tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gulf War 1, Bosnia. I have the utmost respect for our vets. I do not have Veteran Status, never was given the honor to serve our country other than ROTC. So i have to make my contributions to our Service men and women in other ways.

What are you doing to honor our Troops on Memorial Day?

Here is what I am doing, I am joining out local HOG chapter, going on a Ride through the country side and ending up at the Memorial Day event at our Washington State National Veterans Cemetery.

So I ask you again What are you doing to honor our Troops on Memorial Day?

My gym is having a Murph workout and cookout. Not sure if im competing yet or not but Il probably go check it out. Besides that just relaxing all weekend.

It's my birthday.

Morning I'll go to my rental house and finish painting it before the new renter moves in next weekend.

Afternoon, I plan to take the new 6.5 Creedmoor AR barrel I chambered to a buddies house, and we'll open up the gas port a couple thousandths at a time until it functions correctly, and then see whether it's accurate enough for a match next weekend. It's my first time using a Green Mountain blank, I typically use premium blanks like Kreiger or Bartlein.

I'll go the cemetery where my Legion Post does a ceremony. Then I'll go to a couple other cemeteries and decorate the graves of a couple KIA soldiers.
