what bayonet do I need?
|
|
Bayonets won't work on a 16, you would need a 14.5". There is too much barrel between the flash hider and the bayo lug.

|
Thank you for your help. How about OKC S3. http://www.amazon.com/Ontario-6504-OKC3S-Marine-Bayonet/dp/B000ET7E0Q ?

You're not listening. You can't mount a standard bayonet on a 16" barrel. You need one that is modified or an adapter to make it work.
And this is in the wrong forum. |
|
You would need one of these : https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=19&t=597260

I've seen some bayonets with extended handles to cover the extra inch and change.

View Quote You can also get one of these from http://www.triple-r-products.com for a non-permanent solution, that'll let you use any M-16 compatible bayonet |

So nobody is going to ask?
What gas system do you have; carbine or mid-length? I have a 16" barrel with the mid-length hand guard/gas system and the M9 bayonet mounts properly without any kind of adapter. I still haven't found a use for it (Phrobis) but it was issued to me when I was active duty, so I know it works. |

The OP clearly states he wants a bayonet for his 6920. |

Try THIS
You may have to use some shim arrangement but this will allow you to keep the blade in front of the FH where you want it to be to get the penetration. Yes, bayonets are awkward but every tool in the box has a use at some point. I sure as fuck do not want to get skewered with a nasty fucking C3S with a pissed off soldier on the other end. |

Doesn't work on an m4gery. Get a mid length upper. For more reasons than just a bayonet mount. 16 inch carbine gas with a 14.5 gas port size is just poor engineering.

Just use a good long fixed blade knife on your person.
Turning a rifle into a bladed weapon doesn't work very well. |
