I did mine with an SD Tac 5.6" Ti Tube. Sloppily pressed the FPs in a few minutes and threw it together. To the ear it sounds about the same as my buddy's SiCo Omega. Weighs 15.6oz. Just over 6" OAL. Got it hot the other day. Didnt blow up. So, thats cool. http://i.imgur.com/6hkrVRM.jpg View Quote I like it!! |

I can't tell from the pics (maybe because I'm half asleep?)-- how do the cans attach to the uzis? Someday my F1's will be approved, and I'll need to know :) View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Form 1 cans smell like freedom! 22lr can for the FA Uzi and 10/22... 45ACP can for the FA Uzi... I can't tell from the pics (maybe because I'm half asleep?)-- how do the cans attach to the uzis? Someday my F1's will be approved, and I'll need to know :) The 22lr can has an Uzi bbl nut pressed into the end. The 45ACP can I threaded the Uzi bbl nut threads into the end-cap...which was fun. |

Could I file for a tax stamp tonight using e-forms? I have a trust, and I have banking info for my trust. What do I need? |

View Quote Scan trust to a PDF, and you can file tonight. Go to the eForms website, make an account, and you're set to go. There's a great guide in the General Class 3 subforum here on how to efile a form 1, and it's easy. You can PM me if you get stuck |

Must be nice to live in a state that allows the plebians to own suppressors. Our IL overlords know what's best and deny us this financially addictive hobby.....

I did my first about a year ago. It's about 6.5" with freeze plugs. Stainless tube. Total weight is right at 19oz. Sounds the same as a YHM Phantom we tested next to it.
Next week I'll be building my 9mm can. Just need the tube to get back from engraving. |

I pretty much set out to make something comparable to my brothers YHM Phantom. They are all steel and come in at 18oz. So I was pretty pleased with my end result. My 9mm is 8 inches (1.375" diameter). Titanium tube and end caps, 17-4 stainless baffles. Sitting all the parts on my food scale says it will be right at 15oz. Heavier than I'd prefer, but it will probably last forever. It's for an SBR more than pistols, so the weight isn't bad. |

Any reason you went direct thread as opposed to the taper mounts? Just, cost? I found that my suppressors mainly just live on certain rifles, and they really don't get taken off that much. In fact, I ordered my first "real" suppressor about a month ago, and went with a direct thread one instead of QD because of what I learned with my Form 1 cans. It'll just live on one of my SBRs. |

Plus I have friends that will use it, so this way they can just screw it on. It's more versatile. |

Makes sense. Mine is on the taper mount because I wanted the ability to remove it. But now that's its on there, I dont think I'll ever remove it, and I dont see a need to put it on any of my longer rifles. I've honestly considered doing my next one perm attached to a short upper. Leave the endcap removable so the guts can still be removed, and then it'll go on any lower and can be transported across state lines without paperwork. |
