AIM have always been a stand up, transparent company. Just seem like genuinely good people running that. They are active on the Industry here and always communicating with their customers. They also didn't jack up their prices during the crazy times of the past.

Funny to see everyone grab their pitchforks and torches right now.

What if this was just the start of hacks on online gun/ammo venders.

.gov compiling a 'list' of gun owners easier with some random 'hacks' than trying to force gun shops etc from turning over 4473's....

Well, if they hack the place I buy ammo from, they are going to have second thoughts about fucking with me.

A data breach costs about $154 per record.  Experian is probably charging AIM about $100 per record.

No.  Just name, address, SSN, answer two multiple-choice questions, and provide an email and password.

That's better than the last time I had this happen.  For that one I had to provide a credit card so they could start billing me when the free year expired.  Not so on this one.

Go look at their industry forum now.  They are so good at communicating with their customers that they posted once about this data breach, offered little info, and haven't addressed any customer questions about it.

But I'm sure they will tell you what BCG's will be in stock on monday morning

1) Be glad that your receiving contact from this company about this data breach. Many companies try to hide it to avoid liability. They are doing the right thing.

2) Every American has already had their personal identifying information hacked several times already.

3) The FBI, US government, VA, DoD, US government, banks, colleges have been hacked. A tiny company with a small footprint should not be expected to do much better.

4) I have received 4 notifications that my information has been hacked this past year alone via OPM, Anthem, etc.

5) Apply for a credit lock for free. Profit.

They fucked up and owned up to it. What more do you want?? I'm guessing you didn't do a lot of business with them. I've always had pleasant dealings with them and some of the best customer service I've ever had from any firearms related sponsor here.

No matter you think, I didn't start this, I only reacted to being left vulnerable by aim, then shot down the shills.

I didn't wake up saying I want to hate aim, I was a loyal customer that spent thousands of dollars and trusted them.

Everything I've said comes from a clean conscience, can the shills honestly say the same?

They fucked up and owned up to it. What more do you want?? I'm guessing you didn't do a lot of business with them. I've always had pleasant dealings with them and some of the best customer service I've ever had from any firearms related sponsor here.

Bob will not rest until there is blood.  BLOOOOOOOD!

I'll be honest the more people defend the more I will defame.

If you don't like my opinion then STFU.

STFU?  whoawegotabadassoverhere.jpg

Go ahead.  I have no loyalty to AIM.  Haven't purchased from them in years.  I'm just here to laugh at the drama queens like yourself.

Looking at the posts in totality, it's a troll account. I wouldn't get too hot and bothered over it.

16'ers, man.  No one takes them seriously, but themselves.

AIM have always been a stand up, transparent company. Just seem like genuinely good people running that. They are active on the Industry here and always communicating with their customers. They also didn't jack up their prices during the crazy times of the past.

Funny to see everyone grab their pitchforks and torches right now.

This is no small thing sir and for you to shill for them is disgusting

He comes across as a Bernie supporter, thinking that the world owes him something.  He's a special little snowflake, ya know?

Doesn't mean you are safe.

I got nailed along with a bunch of other people off of here when credit cards got compromised on aim back in... 2009ish?

Stopped purchasing from them.

Just recently bought a few things from them again... shit.

Honestly, credit card breaches don't mean shit.  Card company protected you... cancel card, get new one.  Rinse and repeat because it will happen again and again and again.  I buy from places that have had card numbers compromised.... don't care.  In online cases, it's typically the card processor that gets compromised, not the actual vendor.

Getting a pic of your drivers license taken is a bigger deal than a credit card getting compromised.  Identity theft is a way bigger deal than someone using your credit card number.

Does your mom know that you're up past your bedtime?  She's gonna be pissed when she finds out...

ETA:  And AIM doesn't owe me shit.  They're good people and sometimes in life shit happens that's out of our control.  I'm not gonna go looking for someone to blame it on because my parents raised me better than that.

If you knew anything about IT, you'd know that "secure data protection" pretty much doesn't exist.  There is always a way to get that data.  All it takes is an attacker that wants it bad enough.

You can't lose, when there is no contest, Bob.

What have you "won" so far?  Besides my heart.

Bob is either really young, or really old.  I can't tell.  But Bob sounds more like an old guy.

Those are two secure options
