Ill update this as I can but I at least wanted to do the introduction post. In a few weeks I am driving to OKLAHOMA to among other things restore a Post Sample MAG 58 with Rhodesian heritage. The guys in the shop who are also friends of mine asked me to restore this to it's original camoed glory. I have a spot on replica paint which I have been selling Rhodie paint kits for quite some time so I am confident the end result will look pretty awesome.....OH! The best part is I get to shoot it afterwards.
For now just a teaser pic of how it currently sits. UPDATE. DAY ONE - Painted the Yellow undercoat. Notice the original paint is left alone. DAY TWO - Green coat. DAY THREE - DISTRESSING VIDEO of me shooting the beast :) |

Maaaaaaaaaaaan!
Don't paint it! That thing is beautiful as is! |

Quoted: Shouldn't it have a wood stock? View Quote As far as the look of the gun I've developed a pretty good blending pattern based on photos I've seen of various Rhodie FN rifles etc how the paint wears . Also spoken with various vets. The barrels were painted and the paint wore away with usage. The paint they used seems to be lead based paint which would make sense due to the age but the oil based paint I use matches well on texture and look . I matched the yellow and green from a stock set I had and believe me it was trial and error to get it right. |

Awesome, cant wait to see the end results man!
Big FAL fan here as well. |
