I understand whatever fish is used in the Wisconsin fish boils are delicious. Where are the cheeseheads braggin' on this in this thread?
Myself? I like walleye and love halibut. And crappie. And bluegill. And perch. |

Quoted: Wahoo, but its also hard to beat fresh yellowfin tuna caught the same day. View Quote You know, you're right. I went on a trip to Venice, LA, and we caught 900 lbs. of tuna. The three of us each caught a 100+ yellowfin. I made a lot of friends and family VERY happy upon my return. It's funny when you talk someone into eating fresh pan-seared yellowfin, and they say, "That doesn't taste like tuna at all!" |

I don't think there is a fish out there I don't like.
Right now I could really dig some sea urchin or some octopus. Love fried anything. Smoked eels are godly. As far as fa orate I would say it has more to do with the animal itself than the species as a whole. |

And bluegill. And perch. View Quote I've never had a Wisconsin Fish Boil, but back in the day it was Friday Fish Fries: All-you-can-eat walleye, perch, and sometimes pike, along with coleslaw, potato pancakes with fresh applesauce, and home-made rye bread with real butter, all washed down with a German draft beer or three. Hard to find a place that does walleye any more, and the perch is usually a limited amount. Very few places ever did pike, because of the excess lateral line bones. But pickeral and pike are both delicious, and stupid easy to catch. |

Tuna, hands down. Sushi or sashimi, red or white. And if the white tuna is escolar instead of albacore, it's still tasty.

Not enough shellfish around not to. It's quite a production. But, you don't get those in Mosinee or Packwaukee because it takes a big restaurant and a big crowd to make it worthwhile. |

We had to buy more coolers to get the fish back to Tampa. I was very sad to see aerial photos of the marina after Katrina. Just gone....vaporized. |
