Edit for wind chill |

BTDT. It's supposed to be almost 80 here today. I like that better.

It is in central Texas. I do feel your pain though, I spent Jan. and Feb of 2004 in Syracuse, fuck that. I swear I could feel the snot in my nose freeze when ever it was -5 or colder. |
|
-28 is when you can do the boiling water into snow trick. I have done this.

Supposed to be -20 in Saranac lake tonight without the wind chill and -15 tomorrow night. I will be there for the fireworks tomorrow night.
According to the computer wind chill on top of mount Washington tonight is going to be -85....Now that's cold... |

Maybe New York should pass some kind of law against below zero temps. |

I thought you were adapted to survive this cold weather......... March of the penguins

Some guy in tights, shorts and a sweatshirt ran past me!
I think my eyelids are frozen open |

41 F right now with a high of 46 F later today.
I feel your pain though... |

Two years ago we poured concrete in -27. We had to warm up the batch plant or the water and cement would freeze to the sides, so the concrete company lackeys grabbed pallets and lit a few fires under the bins, but they got carried away and ended up burning one of the batch plants to the ground.
I was so glad, that sucked, every single second of it. We also placed some mud with the helicopter that winter, the pilot loved the air density, I hated standing under the rotor wash in -25 watching concrete dump in a hole 3/4 yard at a time. |

Could get up to 55-58 here in the Heart of the Rockies, today. Off to the range a bit later.

Going to be in the low 50's here Monday. I like El Nino winters. Sound like you guys got what was left over. When I was a kid, I remember my mom telling me it was -35 below when we lived in Mass. but there was no wind.

my left eye and eye brow I'm pretty sure froze while doing my driveway this morning
damn it was cold. |

Yup.
I hate my state a little more every winter. But then I remember that I'm within miles of the largest supply of fresh water in the world, there's fertile ground all around me, I'm off the nuke maps, and in case of disaster, everybody else is going south. I'm about as well situated for what I think is coming as Jericho, Kansas was. But then I take the dog out on a day like today and wonder if it's really worth it... |

What's the little dash in front of the temperature mean? Is it some kind of euro metric thing?
|
|
We're expecting 82 degrees here today ... slightly warmer tomorrow but it's a dry heat.

I sat inside drinking coffee while Mr Plow did my long driveway this morning. He probably think I'm nuts with two Power Wagons sitting there, but the UPS/Fedex guys won't come back here if it's not plowed. |

View Quote Just took the 1 year old for a home depot run. 0 degrees, no wind, and sunny. Not bad at all. |

I notice that after like -5 I just can't tell when it gets any colder.
But no worries for me. Left the Northeast on Tuesday after being there since New Years, so I'll only be in the 20's this weekend. I still see everyone bundled up down here like it's about to be below zero, though. |

Go outside and piss into the wind, do not worry it will freeze before you get splash back

I took my kid to an aquarium yesterday....it was hot so we wore shorts

I think my cat is part Siberian Husky. Little fuck was bouncing off me at 5:30 this morning to go out.
It was -1, wind chill was -12. I let him out, turned on the driveway alarm figuring he'd want in fairly quickly and he stayed out for 4 hours. He understands the alarm very well as his means to get back inside when he's ready. He can keep that thing beeping non stop when he wants in. I have an old kitty litter box with a top with a couple old airline blankets for him to use when I'm in town if he wants to be a bit warmer, but he wasn't in there when I checked after a half hour of letting him out. When I went to town to gas for the car he still wasn't to be found. When he finally came in he ate a small bit of food and wanted to play chase with the Nerf darts. Thinking of trading him in for a goldfish so I can get some sleep. |
