http://www.wtsp.com/story/news/local/2016/02/09/gun-bounty-program-kicks-off-hillsborough/80060546/ Several law enforcement agencies in Hillsborough County are teaming up with Crime Stoppers Tampa Bay for a new program aimed at curbing a recent spike in gun violence – See it, Say it, Stop it. View Quote The gun bounty program is not a gun buyback. Instead, if you know someone who has an illegal gun, you can pass that info along to law enforcement anonymously for a $1,000 cash reward. The goal is to get illegal weapons, and the people who may use them, off the street before those crimes occur. |

Not surprised. We're only going to see more of this passive-aggressive shit. Gutless and stupid. Sure to be taken advantage of.

Now way that could EVER be abused
Wonder how many innocent people will have trouble because of some asshole causing trouble Fuck whoever came up with this, fuck whoever implemented this, and fuck whoever has anything to do with this |

The gangbangers in Overton are going to love this new law.
Instead of capping that punk-azz n199@ who dissed you just rat him out to the cops and get some spending money to boot. |

Considering 90% of people seem to think all guns are registered, I don't put a lot of faith in Johnny Citizen giving accurate reports.

How about Lick it, Suck it, Fuck it and Ill give you $10 instead?

Quoted: The future of America. THIS is how confiscation will go. View Quote It's how it usually goes. Some universities have a code of conduct that states it is a violation of the code of conduct to not report a violation of the code of conduct. Wonder how long it will be until the State makes a similar law.... |

This reminds me of when I was a dispatcher.
Crimestoppers runs an ad for a $1000 reward for turning somebody in with a warrant. This one guyhas THREE people call in on him in the space of about 2 hours, trying to claim a grand. Guy has no warrant. Finally, the guy calls in himself, and asks if he has a warrant. I was actually glad to tell him that he didn't, but he REALLY needed to cull his friends list. |

Wonder how many homies will start buying up all the guitar cases to keep in the car?
Why, no officer, we just come back from a gig. See. Our guitar cases is in the back. |

Do I get the $1000 if i report a certain group of people for making and allowing thousands of straw purchases that eventually cause a law enforcement officer's death?

So, can Florida residents who legally own guns but are accused of illegal ownership by their nosey neighbors expect to be immune from illegal search and seizure and be able to hold their wrongfully accusing neighbors financially liable for any harm caused by wrongful accusation?
Because if so, then I say fine. |

This has been a standing order in Jacksonville for years. It's not the gun that's illegal, it's the owner. They want people to report known felons who have guns.
Eta, yep 2006. |

Hillsborough. Figures. By the way, this is NOT Florida... It is a local government. Tampa is the land of Obama and near the Sheriff who claimed all the FL sheriffs oppose open carry/stand your ground and that CCW is the cause of all evil. |
|
[#33]
Sounds good to me. Felons in possession should be hooked up and carted off to jail...
After all, the NRA position for years has been all about enforcing existing laws on the books, instead of passing new ones. |

Well, I guess it's time to go to Florida and find the local gun range and claim my prize. What's the number again?

I passed a school bus surrounded by 30 cop cars this morning. Turns out, some shitbird was loading a stolen handgun on the way to school, in view of the other kids.
I'm not mad at this if they pass open carry as well. Get used to firearms, then call in the ones that don't belong. |
