NEW YORK (Reuters) - A prominent Democratic donor worried about the party's chances of winning the presidency emailed dozens of fans of Vice President Joe Biden on Friday, urging them to remain prepared to donate if Biden jumps into the race. The donor, Bill Bartmann, cited new polling showing Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont nearly tied with the Hillary Clinton, eroding the 30-point lead the former secretary of state held at the end of last year. Bartmann and other party insiders are concerned that Sanders, a self-proclaimed Democratic socialist, is too far to the left to win against a Republican in the Nov. 8 presidential election. "We cannot afford to lose the White House," Bartmann wrote in the email, seen by Reuters. The email drew a string of affirmative responses, also seen by Reuters. Baskette said he was not opposed to either Clinton or Sanders. "I don't think that they offer the solutions to our nation's future that Joe Biden does," he added. "Count me in," Gary Hindes, chief executive of the Delaware Bay Company LLC and a former chairman of the Delaware Democratic Party, wrote on the email chain. "I am hoping that the stars line up right and that Joe becomes the nominee," Hindes said to Reuters. "Sanders is too far to the left," he added, saying Clinton could be vulnerable as well. https://ca.news.yahoo.com/democratic-donor-contacts-biden-allies-possible-run-010248619.html |

I'm not sure Biden could get elected either, although the idea of him jumping in worries me. It seems likely that a lot of hard-core Hillary supporters and (especially) Bernie youths might say screw it and sit the election out if the party machine pulls a stunt like that. |
|
Still too early. But it would be great if Sanders does great, perhaps even beating Hillary in the primaries.
Then Hillary is not selected as the nominee but Biden is drafted. Sanders runs third party as does Bloomberg. America needs Sanders on the ballot in November. |

I would hope so, anyway. |

No matter how many old white curmudgeon's they find, whether it be Clinton, Bernie, Uncle Joe, or Bloomberg, it just doesn't feel like a Democrat year or era even to me.
You know when the last time we had 2 consecutive Democrat Presidencies? When JFK was assassinated and LBJ took over in 1963. Before that, it was when FDR died in office in 1945, and his VP, Truman took over. Before that, it was Andrew Jackson genocide against American Natives and Martin Van Buren, a period covering 1829-1841. Since we are still in an economic crisis, they face being shut out of the White House for next 3-4 elections if US History is a precedent. Any party that has been in office during a major National crisis era gets shut out of the WH when looking at the 90 year cycle of 4 generations. What's more realistic? A Hillary or Bernie White House working with the new Congress, or someone fresh after 8 years of Obama failure? |

Why do they have a 2 deep bench for the most important job in the world? why are no democratic politicians admired beyond Bernies fangirls? |

Bidens an unelectable buffoon. Let the man exit public life quietly, and with at least a little dignity.
The the first card the demons would play would be the pity card, since his son recently died, but he's going to try to save the country in is sons memory. Demons like pity.... |

I still think Biden will be their nominee, have thought so for months.

I love how liberals tried to create this false narrative about how 20% of women who attend college get raped and that all rape victims must be believed. In fact, men accused of rape shouldn't even be allowed to have due process in court. They should just be considered guilty, because rape is so unspeakably horrible no one would ever lie when they accuse someone of it.
Now, put your hands together for Hillary Clinton, whose job it was to silence her husband's victims of sexual abuse and rape! |

Some still foolishly think delegates elect the nominee. In the case of the DNC, delegates are told who their nominee will be. Even when they play by their party rules, it's a very strange process where people are openly antagonized and pressured into corners in a large room. They didn't play by their own rules in 2008, and Howard Dean just ushered Obama in, let everyone know who the nominee was going to be, and those who didn't play along were threatened, intimidated, and even murdered, like Bill Gwatney, the Chairman of the Arkansas DNC and superdelegate pledged to Hillary who refused to change his vote for Obama, and was going to demand a recount of those who wanted to pledge for Hillary at the DNC convention in Denver. On the Republican Party, you still have secret ballots. |

I'm still impressed with the notion that Biden has fans. View Quote Biden would have dominated the democrat field. He is seen as a kind of Harmless Carter, that isn't controversial or too liberal. Hillary and Bernie are both so fanatical, it's turned off a lot of moderate DNC voters. Many of those are flocking to Rubio, oddly enough, even though they can't vote for him in the Primary. A Biden ticket has a better shot nationally than either DNC vote. |
