I have never had cancer. I have no idea of what you are going through. I know many people that have had it and beat it.
You have a right to be scared.
Once you are over that, get mad at it. Beat it. Don't quit, don't give up, fight everyday.
Be a warrior and be victorious.
You have a lot of people praying for you.
I am praying your body will be strong and you will be confident.

My ex remarried some thirty years ago and my son is now 35...Me and his  stepfather have been a little stand offish until last year...He had some rare cancer and needed a bone marrow donor and came down to Tampa's Moffit center , Larry is 60...We got together and all is good... A donor was found in Germany from a 30 year old guy and Larry is doing super and ready to continue his life...You can win

Will be praying for your healing.  I have read this many times to provide comfort and remind me how much God cares for me...Psalm 145:

I will exalt you, my God the King;
   I will praise your name for ever and ever.
2
Every day I will praise you
   and extol your name for ever and ever.

3
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
   his greatness no one can fathom.
4
One generation commends your works to another;
   they tell of your mighty acts.
5
They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—
   and I will meditate on your wonderful works.[b]
6
They tell of the power of your awesome works—
   and I will proclaim your great deeds.
7
They celebrate your abundant goodness
   and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

8
The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
   slow to anger and rich in love.

9
The Lord is good to all;
   he has compassion on all he has made.
10
All your works praise you, Lord;
   your faithful people extol you.
11
They tell of the glory of your kingdom
   and speak of your might,
12
so that all people may know of your mighty acts
   and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
   and your dominion endures through all generations.

The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
   and faithful in all he does.[c]
14
The Lord upholds all who fall
   and lifts up all who are bowed down.
15
The eyes of all look to you,
   and you give them their food at the proper time.
16
You open your hand
   and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

17
The Lord is righteous in all his ways
   and faithful in all he does.
18
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
   to all who call on him in truth.
19
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
   he hears their cry and saves them.
20
The Lord watches over all who love him,
   but all the wicked he will destroy.

21
My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.
   Let every creature praise his holy name
   for ever and ever.

Please say a prayer for me.  I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer today.

I have a 6 year old son and I cannot imagine not being able to see him grow up.

The doctor says it is operable and my chances of survival are good but i am very scared right now.

ETA:

To EVERYONE who has responded with well wishes and prayers, Thank you SO much.  Tonight i have dust in my eyes but tomorrow i am going to wake up and fight and win.  I am going to go to sleep now but i will check in the morning and answer some questions that were asked here.  Hug your loved ones and tell them you love them.

Stay strong OP...the biggest piece of advice I can give after surviving cancer (Head&neck) is stay strong!!!! Don't get discouraged!!! I was diagnosed and a week later my ex wife walked out on me.  I didn't let anything stop me, nothing got me down. If you need to talk......PM me.

Two episode from Archer......Placebo Effect & Stage 2!!!

Big_Papa, what stage?  What were your symptoms?  What lead to the diagnosis?

Is it stage IA, IB, IIA, IIB, III, IV?  When are they going to do the Whipple surgery?

And yes you're in my thoughts.

Update:

Thank you all for the prayers and emails and well wishes.

After meeting with the oncologists a few weeks ago it has been determined that my type of cancer is extremely dangerous.  The tumor itself is operable, but the type of cancer is fast growing and typically metastasizes in other parts of the body.  As of now it has NOT metastasized, thank God, but the oncologist has started me on chemo first before surgery to try to kill any cells in my body outside of the tumor.  I had my first chemo treatment last week and it was not fun.  5 different types of chemo administered in one day with a 6th type administered over a 2 day period with an external pump.  My 2nd treatment starts Monday.

I will have 6 chemo treatments, followed by surgery to remove the tumor and then another 6 chemo / radiation treatments following surgery.  It is a long road with uncertain results, but I am doing my best to stay positive for my family.

I ask you for continued prayers for my healing, strength for my wife and comfort for my son who is very scared for his daddy.

Thank you so much.

To OP:

I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year. I had a 6cm neuroendocrine pancreatic tumor. It was a big boy. It was found incidentally on a CT looking for a kidney stone I came to the ER with. It is survivable.

No one knew what it was to begin with. I was scared to death. Everyone kept saying "calcification." After 2 more months, a biopsy, and alot of dr visits, it was fully diagnosed. I started getting my affairs in order. I'm 37 years old, and this was hard for me.

I knew what it meant, and I was at a complete and total loss.

In a nutshell, my issue was that the tumor was 2mm away from involving a major blood vessel in my pancreas that would otherwise have made it inoperable. We were very close. We operated. The surgery went well, the recovery not so much. I was in a coma for 37 days afterwards. It didn't go as planned. A very major hospital in Atlanta fucked me up hardcore.  The point is, have hope. I thought I was done. Here I sit a year and a half later, and I'm completely fine. It does happen. Just keeps thought like that on your mind. I'll pray for you. I came out of mine when I was absolutely sure I was done. It IS survivable, given the right circumstances.
