Just think of it, I can leave from work on Thursday, pick you up by 5pm, we can get there Friday evening, get blitzed, wake up on Saturday, run, and then head home!

What could go wrong with that plan.

I'm up in Centennial Hills, so it's only about a 20-30 minute drive.

Of course, it's also winter, so there's snow up there, which will slow me down.  Dammit.

Still going.

PM sent.   Fuel costs are not inconsiderable.

I'll be bringing an old army cucv blazer towing a 101 with an s250 shelter on it.   So theoretically room for 3 or 4 people plus stuff.

I added cruise control to my vehicle, too.   No AC yet, but I doubt we'll need it.

Supposedly, with altitude, the body will compensate the first day.  If this was a two day event it would have some real issues.

Smoking trains your body to operate on less oxygen, so when you go to altitude, you will be used to the lower o² content.  Thus smoking while running is a recipe for success!

I'm in for now unless something changes.

I am starting on the CWWII knife this week. Traditionally the knife goes to the best pistol shooter. It will be this pattern scaled down a bit. Not sure if I will put scales on it or do a para-wrap handle. I'm leaning to scales.

Current IN list updated based on spreadsheet, which is way easier than anything else for me. If you've posted your IN and don't see yourself on the list, please fill out the google doc form.

2T2_Crash - yes, I need all the help I can get. Current plan is to get the obstacles and targets designed this month. Built by the end of Feb, and moved on site the first week of March. Locally we are going to source a gas oven/range converted to propane for the dirty inky to use, as well as get the pit for the pig or other critters dug and lined. Magnetic ammo will be a no go for the event due to the fact that I set a range on fire last summer and what was a polite recommendation before is now an outright prohibition. Five minute penalty for every range fire you set, and the clock doesn't stop running while you put it out. Pick up, or load, some commercial ammo for the M1. M2AP is actually what I started the range fire with.

CaliContractor- Excellent. I will probably have access to some dirt moving equipment as well, so we can have some fun. Figure mid-late Feb.

VacaDuck- Call a spot, we're going to be very flexible on running. Calling a spot will guarantee you a slot, assuming you want it, but it won't prevent someone from running if you cancel last minute, unless they were iffy on travel plans ahead of time. And, anyone who's willing to travel long distances and arrange for travel in advance, and contacts me, will get a spot. Maybe not a swag bag, but they'll run if they show up.

p2tharizo- I have a fuckload more of that kingsford. Bring the Weber, but don't worry about fuel for it.

Scare_Crow- Title imbiggenated. Thanks! You should come play with us, I'll probably have your tricorner hat done by then.

BoxofRox- Put your name on the spreadsheet, and have your buddy do the same.

slowmethinks- We can set up a wading pool for you to stay cool in. I'll even have a hatchet nearby so you can break the ice off of the top of the water.

Link Posted: 1/4/2016 5:59:10 PM EDT

It's your show, so I'll call a spot now.

I will provide plenty of notice if my neck issue prevents me from running.

Off to sign up with the form.

I've never done a cola warrior.   What all guns/ammo do I need to bring?   What would be a good idea to bring in addition?

What's the policy on full auto and/or sploadies (tannerite?)

Will there be a grill or should I bring a little propane stove?

Pistol with two mags, rifle with two mags. For this event only, there is no limit on the capacity of the pistol or rifle mags, including belts.

Expect 10-15 reactive steel pistol targets from 12-50m, and 10-15 reactive rifle targets from 100-450m.

Full auto is fine. Most people shoot with a 9mm Glock of some sort, and a 5.56mm AR15 of some sort, but loadouts, and success, varies wildly. No ammo that attracts a magnet, period, due to risk of damage to steel targets, and fire hazard, and general liability issues. No tannerite at this event.

There will be cooking hardware, but bringing more is always encouraged. I have a fuckload of Kingsford charcoal I can bring out.

Use the sign up link. I'm not planning on closing registration in the traditional sense. Rather, when the roster is full, anyone beyond that will basically be given an idea of what their odds are of running during the normal event hours and getting a swag bag. There's always the option of showing up early to run with locals, which will mostly non-vets, doing it for vet status and a chance at major prizes.

Several local SOTs have expressed an interest in running with subguns and belt feds. Who am I to say no? Instead of limited mag capacity, we'll be capping the range time at 10 minutes from first round fired to cutoff.
