Crash with the little girl and her dad. Even though it turns out OK, it chokes me up just thinking about it.

I always get a tear at the end of "The Green Berets" when "Ham Chung" (?) is asking about "Peterson".
That said, I find it gets dusty during many old war movies (and new ones too) I watch, nowadays. Does something happen to us after we turn fifty, or something?!? WTF? |

The ship sinking and people drowning sequence in Titanic (mom telling a final story to her kids, the old couple in bed, etc). Heart wrenching.
We Were Soldiers Once, basically about half the movie. AI, again about half the movie. That's enough for now. |

The scene towards the end of Blackhawk Down when the solider is telling his commander to not go out without him even though he isn't going to make it. View Quote I heard the Commander of Delta at the time, General Jerry Boykin, talk at a local church about events of the day. Listening to him tell the story about having to order his men into battle was tough. He was hit by a motor attack the next day and injured. He is a deeply religious man and he had his faith well tested. My choice for movie scene is easy. Landing scene in Saving Private Ryan. My great uncle was in the 116th Co A. The first group to land on the beach that day. He was KIA and buried in the American Cemetery in Normandy. |

I agree with a lot of the ones here so I won't repost.
I will add this one though - the ass kicking scene from My Bodyguard Everyone was afraid of Linderman...until this one gut wrenching scene. This scene takes everything from him. Everything. I remember watching this as a young guy and I will forever remember the odd feeling it left me with. |

Pickett's Charge in "Gettysburg," particularly when Garnett's horse comes back riderless and shot to hell. "Glory" Col. Shaw's final speech to his unit. "If this man shall fall, who will lift the flag and carry on?" View Quote Another one from Gettysburg is when Lee says to Pickett "General, you must tend to your division." Pickett replys as the camera zooms in on his face "General Lee, I have no division." The look on Pickett's (Stephen Lang's) face is one of heart break. |
