Quoted: So it seems Ferrari has made some changes to its ICE. I'm working on a blog post about a specific part because I'm that much of a nerd View Quote Looks like the majority are designed to help them narrow the bodywork at the rear; perhaps at the expense of getting fatter in the middle unless they've tightened up the packaging even more. Getting the intercooler out of the V (which is where Hondas Turbo placement has caused them their own problems) and going with variable length trumpets will have to help. I'm surprised they weren't already using them. Looking forward to the blog, I'm a bit of an F1 tech nerd myself. |

Honda went out on a limb with Size 0 concept. It has promise to payoff but it was risky and flopped. A bigger turbo (difficult at best to implement inside the V during the season) would have helped more than one power unit. With still bigger turbos coming into pla they may have to abandon/drastically modify it. |

I agree. I really like that black/yellow rendering. I also hope they can put the American flag somewhere on the car like the second one. I think, though, there will be red on teh car somewhere due to the close ties with Ferrari. |

Official or leak? If I understand correctly today is the livery. The 22nd is the full roll out. Hmmm...looks like it is going to kick off in a few minutes. But (as you mentioned) it is only a livery debut using the old car. |

I just plain don't like it. I like the gray camo on the race suits, however the yellow out line of the bull and the cartoonish redbull just looks....odd. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Quoted: At least Ferrari went to a push rod type suspension View Quote We knew that was coming. I wonder what drove the change though? Pushrod is better aero but a higher CG. Pullrod has a lower CG but worse aero. They figured they'll get enough aero they can give up that lower CG or maybe they've reached a point with the front end CG they can say the difference made isn't worth is please sir may I have the better aero? They've really narrowed the rear body work. It's a big change. |
