I'm thinking of replacing my 20" barrel for something shorter and I need some help choosing between a Colt pre-ban 14.5" and a 16" HBAR. Is the lightweight of the M4 barrel a disadvantage when it comes to heat and accuracy? The bayonet lug on the 16" is kind of useless. Which one would you guys get?

It depends what for.  For the Range 16" for home defense 14.5". i have both and i keep the 14.5" barrel on for home defense because it is easier to move room to room and heat dissapation is no concern.
