Finally an academic with enough balls to say it!

LINK

A chapel sermon on love left a student at Oklahoma Wesleyan University feeling “offended” and “victimized.”

But instead of capitulating to the offended young scholar, OWU President Everett Piper pushed back with a blistering rebuke of what he called “self-absorbed and narcissistic” students.

"This is not a day care. This is a university,” he wrote in a blog that has since gone viral.

Back home in Tennessee, we call that a “Come to Jesus” moment.

“Our culture has actually taught our kids to be this self-absorbed and narcissistic,” he wrote. “Any time their feelings are hurt, they are victims! Anyone who dares challenge them and, thus, makes them ‘feel bad’ about themselves, is a ‘hater,’ a  ‘bigot,’ an ‘oppressor,’ and a ‘victimizer.’”...

ATTN DUPE NAZIS: Searched "Oklahoma Wesleyan University", no results.
Anyway, even if it is a  dupe, it needs to be repeated.

Good for him.  Hope he keeps his job.  If I had to bet money on it, I bet he doesn't

Academia created the tiger and was content to allow it to feast on others.

It is only now a problem because university administrators and faculty no longer have it by the tail and are being eaten as well?

Hmmm.

The intolerant far-left-extemists will destroy him for not getting on his knees before them. The "anti-racists" (anti-whites) in the media will seek his destruction as well. Modern academia has no place for free thinking like his.

He will be made an example of.

The victimization movement has been going on for longer than just recent memory.  This shit was going on 15 years ago when I was in college and I'm certain existed even before that.  Hopefully it's reaching the tipping point where it finally gets the push back it so desperately deserves.

Maybe the Board of Directors or Regents or whatever said, "Go get 'em, boy!"

Unless he ain't white, then skip the "boy".

Unfortunately, while I whole-heartedly agree with every word he said, he is only one candle in the midst of a tornado of the victim mindset plaguing universities today.

I'm sure the news and #BLM will go on the attack over "Bigoted Christian Schools" before it's all said and done.

Negative.  Liberalism most certainly caused this.  As the 1970's book title had it: "Liberal Parents, Radical Children."  Which the WSJ correctly editorialized: "Liberal Children, Despotic Children."  The liberal philosophy finally has gotten to the point where their tenet of freedom of speech has become inconvenient to their never ceasing attack on anything resembling an institution or a custom.

This.  Wish him the best, but the "victimhood machine" has torn down better men than him.

It's not a problem, and nobody really cares.

This started in the 60's in....wait for it.....universities and colleges.

People who are losing their jobs care about it.

The professors who secretly believe in academic freedom in the classroom, but self censor because they don't want trouble, likely care about it as well.

Why would he get fired?  Are the protesters insisting that it is indeed a daycare and not a university?

This is the difference between an private and public university. You'll never see a BLM or oh mah feelz protest at 99% of private universities. The only reason the Yale one got so big is that Yale tries to out lib everyone.

Those kids may not have changed anything in the classroom, but they left the universities and changed the very culture of America. That's what matters.
