Anyone remember Manhunt?

I loved that game. And despite the church ladies protests... Still havent killed anyone with a plastic bag.

Sorry to disappoint, Church Ladies. I know you wish I would have.

Can't help but wonder at the fascination found for games like this. Gotta desensitize kids who play it.

IMHO...it's not a combat game...it's just a straight up murdering other humans game. That's fucked up.

I don't see how these type of games can be good for anyone to take in on a constant basis.
I believe that they have been a motivating factor for some to commit the real act of murdering someone else.
I believe that the real potential is there especially for young people and the unstable also.
They woud not be allowed in my house for my children or grandchildren to play.

Doom didn't make me any less safe around pink gorillas and imps, I don't see how this game would harm children.

It doesn't desentatize anyone to anything, it's a video game on tv or PC. Have slasher movies desensitized you to murder? The point of the game might be fucked up and pointless, but it won't do anything other than bore kids after 10 minutes.

The window dressing is mass murder, but the gameplay isn't new.

Which raises the question. Is ultra-violence, as an artistic tool, only bad in video games? Or if Odysseus slaughters 80 men, is that bad too?

Grand Theft Auto, anyone? I don't think I've ever completed more than 20% of any of the editions I've owned without going full-tilt on the "police chases and dead hookers" angle until I got bored and turned it off...
